Having problems with my credit card company. Any advice?

Long story. Basically, I bought software and was sent bootleg software.

So I called my credit card company. They said, OK we'll send you something to fill out. They never did.

I called them and they said, ';No everything's fine.';

Months later, I called them again. They said, ';Oh, it was processed wrong. I'll process it correctly. In the meantime, you need to make payments on it.';

I made one payment. Next time they said, ';Oh, you don't have to make payments until we've decided if you need to pay it.';

They sent me a letter saying ';Since you haven't returned it, you'll have to pay for it as normal.';

I said, ';You never told me I had to return it.';

I returned it to the address listed with the credit card company. It came back as ';addressee unknown.';

I immediately called the credit card company and told them. They said, ';OK.';

Then today I got a letter saying that since the addressee was unknown, they couldn't refund my money.

Make sure they know that unless this issue is resolved to your satisfaction, you will be switching to another credit card.

Be specific. You know those credit card apps. we all get that offer really low introductory interest? Threaten to switch to one of those. Demand a lower interest rate while you're at it. Credit card companies spend a lot to attract new clients, they don't want to lose any.

Go up the line and talk to the highest person you can. Take names, keep records, get everything possible in writing.Having problems with my credit card company. Any advice?
Your first mistake was attempting to dispute the charge via phone calls. You have to put it in writting anyway. It's best to just send a letter detailing your dispute. You would then have a paper trail.
