  • I got an offer from ';SUBSEA RECUIRMENT AGENCY';, England. please any one advice whether it is a genuine company

The United Kingdom has enjoyed a system of company registration since 1844. Today, company registration matters are dealt with in law, by the Companies Act 1985 and the updating legislation contained in the Companies Act 1989.

All limited companies in the UK are registered at Companies House, an Executive Agency of the Department of Trade and Industry. There are more than 2 million limited companies registered in Great Britain, and more than 300,000 new companies are incorporated each year.

I have looked on Companies House's website but SUBSEA RECRUITMENT AGENCY is not listed there.

This doesn't necessarily mean that they don't exist as they could be trading under a different name to their registered one. Or it could be that they are too small to be registered or are a different type of business (e.g. partnerships don't need to be registered)

If you are referring to the same company that owns www.subsea.org , that website looks like it is registered to someone in Denmark.

If in doubt, don't be afraid to ask for more information about themselves, a legitimate company won't mind.I got an offer from ';SUBSEA RECUIRMENT AGENCY';, England. please any one advice whether it is a genuine company
ANYTHING you never applied for is a SCAM

That includes all the JUNK EMAILS from fake addresses you never heard of and all those from people you have heard of that tell you 'Your Loan has been approved' 'You have won the Lottery', 'My child needs medical bills to be paid', 'Please help me transfer millions of illegal money out of Nigeria' (actually, anything from Nigeria is a SCAM = unless of course you actually know some-one out there).

Why do people never learn ?I got an offer from ';SUBSEA RECUIRMENT AGENCY';, England. please any one advice whether it is a genuine company
no licences are required to run a recruitment agency in the UK... i would say they are genuine on the face of it.. .. but can they find you genuine work with genuine clients with genuine wages???

I need advice about whether its legal or not to work for two mortgage companies?

I am a Loan Officer with A Mortgage Co and offered a position to work with B Mortgage Co.

Company A is slow going when it comes to processing loans but they broker loans to all 50 states. Company A provides leads and has telemarketers for the Loan Officer. I know that I have to process those leads through Company A since they have paid for them. ( I know that it is unethical to process those with someone else)

On the other hand, I have been offered another job with another mortage company in my state but they only do in state loans and allow there Loan Officers to work from home. Is this against the law to be employed by both companies?

What I really want to do is the out of state loans and the Company A generated leads process through Company A and my personal self generated leads in my state process through B since Company A is slow going.

I am 100% commission and do not get a salary with either company.

Thanks :) Serious ANSWERS only.I need advice about whether its legal or not to work for two mortgage companies?
Read your employment agreement with both companies carefully. Non-compete clauses are often standard. These state that you can't work for somebody else in the same or similar capacity. If there is a non-compete clause, you will probably be fired if they find out. IANAL, but I think legal proceedings against you are unlikely, unless you are embezzling or defrauding the company.

There's no licensing required to be a loan officer, so moonlighting for another company does not fall under any special statutes.I need advice about whether its legal or not to work for two mortgage companies?
Different states regulate this issue differently. Contact your state's finance divison for an answer.
I doubt that it is illegal. The issue would be much more ethical. If both companies knew what you were doing and why, and signed off on it - I doubt there would be a problem. But I doubt that I would.

It sounds to me like Company A is a waste of your time. Telemarketed leads are generally garbage and if you have been in the business any time at all I would think you would have your own marketing in place and not need them.

I'm a student trying to get a credit card. I don't know which company to go with. any advice.?

Hate to tell you this but the best rate I found was with GE Money (if they're still doing the card).

They don't advertise but if you go on one of those comparison websites you'll usually find out they're the best.

Be sure to shop around and get the lowest APR possible.

Also be sure not to go overboard on the thing as student debt is enough without that hanging around your neck as well.I'm a student trying to get a credit card. I don't know which company to go with. any advice.?
most credit card companies advertise at schools.

try to go with the ones with the lowest fees and longest grace period.

make sure you can pay back at least the min payments on time otherwise don't bother with credit cards.

You usually dont really need a credit card until you start working.

I personally prefer Chase over Citi but really hate both of them. As someone else suggested your local bank in your neighborhood often has the best dealsI'm a student trying to get a credit card. I don't know which company to go with. any advice.?
As a student. I recommend to check with your bank for student visa and start using wisely to prevent your future finance reputations such obtaining car ,home, and personal loans. I would not recommend to to sign up on the internet because of some duplicate scammers. Good luck, MM
dont get amex they periodically do finacial reviews in youre account to see if you can afford the card and then they will cancel youre card

Car crash! Have you any good advice for dealing with insurance companies?

My Husband crashed my car today - thankfully although very sore he is ok. He hit a bollard on a round about at approx 25miles an hour. There was an oil spill on the road and the car just glided. Thankfully we have a witness and the Police were very helpful. The highways guys were there within 15 minutes to clean the road. Apparently there had already been 4 crashes there this week! The insurance company are asking my husband to accept responsibility! I have told him not to. Have you been in a similar situation? Advice welcome. ThanksCar crash! Have you any good advice for dealing with insurance companies?
If the road has been subject to 4 accidents due to this spill and you can prove this with Police back up - then it is down to the local council and/or Highways Dept to accept responsibility - although they will always deny it!

Advise your insurance company to reclaim costs from local council/Highways Dept.

If however, the oil spill cannot be attributed to negligence by the council/Highways - then your husband may have to assume responsibility.Car crash! Have you any good advice for dealing with insurance companies?
No you in no way should accept responsibility,in this situation its up to the company to prove that your husband was responsible, you already have sustainable evidence of the cause and witness accounts from the highways people this is negligence caused by the council who should have had the spill cleaned up and have failed in their duty of care,i had the same situation when my car hit a pot hole which caused it to veer and i collided with a tree and my company tried to get me to admit liability, stick to your guns and if you belong to a motoring association then consult them for support.
If the insurance company will not accept the claim based upon what you stated then seek the government body that regulates the insurance companies in your area/state/province/whatever (i.e. insurance commission..etc.). Remember, always go to the top...the '; middle man '; is paid to give you the run-a-round.
You could go on a massivecrusade to prove that someone else is negligent, ultimatly you will probably waste alot of time, as you will only lose your excess normally 拢100 you will also lose no claims bonus if you dont have it protected, if it is protected you will just lose one of your ';lives';. If i were you i would pay the money and save yourself alot of grief and put the incident down to bad luck.
Don't admit liability to them, its the reason they need to not pay out the claim. stick to your guns and claim against the policy, if you have fully comp insurance you will be fine. if not you have to pursue it on the grounds of unavoidable circumstances, the oil. try and get paperwork from the police if poss.

stick to your guns but expect to wait as insurance companies can drag their heels
You need to find someone to blame it on first. The person who you talked to wanted you to accept responsibility because its easier for them. Go down fighting. Its likley you will loose but try everything you can.
Get a lawyer! They will be VERY helpful. My husband was also in a wreck last year (he too was okay, thankfully). His lawyer did all of the dealing with the insurance company. I would also have the lawyer find out if that oil spill had been reported prior to his wreck. Slim chance, but if it had been, then liability may fall to who's responsible for cleanup.
Sorry to tell you, your hubby's at fault. Oil spill or not, that doesn't alleviate him of his duty to pay attention and drive according to the road conditions, which in this case, there's oil on the roadway and 25mph is way too fast.....
Go to your local council highway department and ask if they will give you a report on the time and place that they cleaned the oil spillage up ,and for what reason ,for it should correspond with your statement ,but it is the council you should be calming off .
if you have no fault insurance it does not matter. If you have regular insurance then do not except get a lawyer if necessary

Hair color consumer advice...Should I keep ordering from this company?

I ordered a dye in the shade of eggplant/burgundy from a company that sells custom-made salon quality hair color. I love this shade and was excited about trying it because, after all, it was custom mixed according to my hair profile. The first time was a failure (that was November)...the colorist actually sent me complimentary color remover because she admitted it was her fault. I just dyed it a second time yesterday with my new formulation. While this is better, I still didn't get the results I want. Instead of a thorough deep shade of burgundy, it's like a dark brown with faint hints of red highlights. I'm sort of angry. It's not as though my hair color is extremely dark and no dye shows up on it. Before I colored it this time, it was actually a medium brown with some light brown/blonde specs (left over from an earlier time).

My question is: Should I give up on this company and go back to guesstimating with drug store dye? (Continued in details.)Hair color consumer advice...Should I keep ordering from this company?
Sally or any beauty supply store should have exactly what you are looking for. My hair is very dark, and I used to get a vibrant pink there that worked fantastically.Hair color consumer advice...Should I keep ordering from this company?
do what you think is best
well do wat will help UR company best if u have to give it up give it up
Go to someone professionally trained at a big salon for the next try. Let them make recomendations based on your current hair color, texture, health, etc. I went through this with being a blonde, it always seemed like I wound up being a light brown because my hair is so dark and when they did take it to blonde it would be fried! I finally shopped around for a salon and a stylist - I asked friends with similar issues for recommendations and finally after much searching I found someone that worked with my current color and that also considered how damaged my hair was - he worked with me to give me a flattering cut that got rid of most of the damge (and still kept my hair long) and also got me to a dark blonde shade with golden highlights. As my hair got healthier the lighter I would go. Good luck!
I wouldnt order from any company unless you are really familar with the product and have used it before..I can tell you to go to a hairstylist that uses redkin products and have it done...Have them use Shades e q..Its a semi permanant color hair gloss..You can discuss the shades before you get it colored..Its wonderful hair color and it shines like glass...They will have formulas to accomodate the color which you want...Have a professional do it and quit wasting your money trying to fix it over and over..You will only end up with damaged hair if you keep doing it yourself..

  • My Dad was killed in a workplace accident at a multi billion dollar refinery company. I need legal advice!?

7 years later the company's lawyers have offered my 3 sisters and I 20 Thousand Australian dollars in compensation. I don't want any of their money. I just want justice. I want them to admit their negligence and apologise to us for our tragic loss. Their offer of a measly 20 grand is such an insult to the value of life of our father and children's grandfather. A drop in the ocean to such a wealthy company. To them he was just another number. The thing that disturbs me, is that if the accident had occurred 20 years prior when my sisters and I were four little girls, our mum would have been widowed and would by no means been able to pay the mortgage on our family home. We would have not only lost our father but been forced out of our home. There needs to be some sort of protection to stop company's like this destroying the lives of young families! My Dad was killed in a workplace accident at a multi billion dollar refinery company. I need legal advice!?
Go see a good lawyer. If it was here in the US they would drool the moment you told them about it.

NONE OF YOU SIGN ANYTHING UNTIL YOU DO. Don't even sign the lawyers contract until you've talked to a few of them.My Dad was killed in a workplace accident at a multi billion dollar refinery company. I need legal advice!?
I don't mean to seem crude, but your Father chose a job that had risks. One of those risks is death and leaving his family. He got paid well for a job well done. With your own admission, he was able to raise three daughters and a wife on that pay. You should be grateful you got anything. I'm sorry for your loss, but that's the way it goes.

Legal Advice to do with bus company ownership.?

A bus company was under the name of one man. Recently, however, a contract was drawn up to where the name of that man was removed and it is now under a different man. With this new recent contract, is it grounds enough to terminate and remove the ex-owner, or is more information needed? The man was a manager at the bus company, and now wants to remove his staff BUT since the new contract now no longer has his name, is it possible to do this? I'd use common sense and say he has no right to even be there since there is a new contract where his name is null and void but I'd rather have some actual legal advice from a lawyer or realtor. Is there a time limit to wait for or does the contract come into effect immediately?

Any help would be great thanks. Legal Advice to do with bus company ownership.?
The answer is complex. If a new contract was drawn up excluding the name of the previous owner; without his permission to do so; then I would say that contract is null and void. You can't legally just exclude him. However if you can legally prove he has no entitlement or deed to the company, then you have a case to argue.

Tax advice - paid by a Dutch company but live & work in UK?

    Hi

I鈥檓 looking for someone who can assist with tax matters.

I am a UK National/citizen, last year I lived and worked in Netherlands (have SoFi #) for a Dutch company. From Jan 1st this year I have moved back to live and work in UK but I continue to be employed by the Dutch company.

I think I need assistance from a professional in both NL and UK tax matters.

Does anyone have experience of this situation and would like to offer any advice?

Many thanksTax advice - paid by a Dutch company but live %26amp; work in UK?
Your employer should know the answer without you going to the expense of seeing an accountant. There is a Double tax treaty between UK %26amp; The Netherlands which will tell you what is taxed where.Tax advice - paid by a Dutch company but live %26amp; work in UK?
Your best bet is to go and talk to your nearest tax office in the first place. Most employees have PAYE and NI deducted by their employer under the PAYE system, and if the employer has no place of business in the UK the Inland Revenue (now HMRC) usually want the employee to operate PAYE for himself. Either way you will find HMRC to be very helpful, and if the Dutch don't want any tax from you you probably won't need to go to the expense of getting professional help.

  • Legal Advice..Worked for NCLB as a tutor and that company will not pay for my 2 months of work!?

So I had a strict contract with this company. Basically I tutored kids and wrote down hours that I tutored all kids and other paper work to keep track of tutoring hours. The contract demanded that all tutors finish 35 hours in 3 months. So when it came down to the end of year to meet the May 30th, 09 deadline, some of my students were not going to finish all 35 hours by May 30th. But I spoke with the person who was administering students to me that what if I dont finish all the hours..and she explained there would be a reason explained, and so mine is that some students had extracuricular activities and did not want to meet on weekends to finish. SO FOR 2 MONTHS I HAVE NOT BEEN PAID, AND THEY ARE KEEPING MY CHECKS WHICH AMOUNT TO ABOUT $2,500. PLUS THEY SAY IM NO LONGER GOING TO BE WORKING WITH THEM. BY LAW THEIR SUPPOSED TO PAY ME I HEARD. EVEN IF ITS A CONTRACT..Legal Advice..Worked for NCLB as a tutor and that company will not pay for my 2 months of work!?
Take it to small claims court. Do you still have your contract? You may not get all of your money but you will get some. Even threatening them with it as well as threatening to go to the BBB might make them cough up the funds. See if Judge Judy is free any time soon.

Is my phone company being honest with me? I need some advice.?

About 4 months ago I moved across the state and at the same time decided to look into bundeling my phone, internet, and TV services to try and save a few bucks. I called around searching for the best deal. I had phone service with Qwest prior to my move and when I called them they quoted me at around $94 a month before taxes, I asked if this was an introductory rate or if it was the set rate, the person on the other end said it was the set rate, so I decided to go with them.

However, my first bill arrived and it was over $150. I knew there was no way that the taxes and fees were $60, so I called them right away and the representative informed me that it would be lower the next month and that it was all of the set up charges that had made my bill so high.

Well, next month my bill was $147. I called immediatly and this time I was told that the person I talked to when I first set up my services had misquoted me. I said, well that is not my fault, what are you going to do about it? To this they informed me that because I had been getting the service for more than 2 months now they couldn't offer me any other discounts because ';the opportunity had expired'; and that I didn;t qualify for the rate I got quoted (which turned out to be introductory) anyways because I technically wasn't a new customer. They then ';did the best they could'; and lowered the internet portion of my bill by $15 dollars a month for one year. I kept asking isn't there someone else I can talk to (I talked to about 3 different people) I don't feel this is fair, it is essentially bait and switch right? They kept telling me that they allready did everything that they could.

Sorry, that was a long explanation, but what should I do? I fee like they misled me and now I have to pay for it. I also find it hard to believe that there was ';nothing more they could do';. Any advice? Is my phone company being honest with me? I need some advice.?
Tough one. Is there any chance that you kept any info on the deal such as web links or research you did up until the time you called them? Sometimes you can find links to old deals on the web and use that as leverage. However, I would simply tell them you are not paying on the bill until you speak to a supervisor.

Make sure that you write down the date and time of your communications and ask the name of the person you are speaking with. I would continue to call until you get satisfaction. If you don't get anywhere with them, you could file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

No matter whom you speak with and when, remain professional and just explain to them that you want the deal you were quoted, that you respect that they are simply customer service agents but that you;d really like to get to the bottom of this. Tell them (respectfully) if they cannot find a way to make the appropriate adjustments that you will shop for a new service provider. Is my phone company being honest with me? I need some advice.?
we also recently bundled all 3 services and and were quoted a price( much lower than yours) and was also surprised to find that my bill was not as originally discussed. after two hours on the phone (with someone not obviously not local) I was told that it was because we started services in the middle of one month and that our charges were carried over onto the questionable bill.the bill was not detailed making things very confusing, but after finding this out at least i knew we wern't being suckered just ill informed. hope this helps

Is the towing company screwing me over? Should I get legal advice?

My car was towed Sunday morning from a parking lot in a local hotspot of bars. I was doing the right thing by not driving home drunk but I parked at a grocery store that had ';no overnight parking';. It was my fault for parking there... no matter how crappy of a situation it is I was wrong (it was either drive home drunk and endanger other people or leave my car somewhere that looked safe).

Now sunday when I find out my car is towed... the guy tells me that I'm being a smartass therefore I wont be able to pick my car up until tuesday. After that conversation I call him back tuesday after labor day to find out that he is charging me for every day I dont pick up my car... I could not pick it up on labor day and he said I couldnt pick up my car on the Sunday it got towed. SO FINALLY tuesday I get in touch with him and he initially says that he will meet me at his lot at 4:00 PM. After calling him back for directions he informs me that he will not be there until 4:30, thus already breaking our initial time agreement to pick up my car. When I arrive at the car lot at 4:30, he informs me that he will not be there to meet me untill 5:00 PM. As you may tell I'm getting very frustrated at this point. 5:15 PM rolls by and he does not answer his phone. 5:30 PM the driver is still not answering his phone and this continues untill 6:30 PM when I leave. On top of this, there was another person waiting that was towed from the same parking lot at the same time as me, however he was charged $200 unlike me, who was charged $175. With the outrageous price for the initial tow aside... is that not illegal to charge two different people two different prices for the same exact service?

I was eventually informed by the man who was with me at the car lot that the driver (who was to take the payment and return my car) arrived finally at 6:45 PM.

Just for a few more stipulations... the tow guy is an ***... He cussed out the man that was waiting for me at the lot...

SO THE QUESTION IS!!!!!!!! Have I been legally abused by this company... are his practices out of line and need police action. After waiting for so long, I feel that my car should be returned to me free of charge with an apology... Is the towing company screwing me over? Should I get legal advice?
you should be charge for the towing and storage but for the days it was they if they charged you for one extra day for him being late ..that is wrong

but also look at this way you didn't get a DUI ..that would of cost at least 10x that amount... or more... most places are required to post the towing fee along with the sign. it is posted onIs the towing company screwing me over? Should I get legal advice?
    Depends where you are.

In my city, the local police department contracts with most of the towing companies, so they tend to play nice, and be ethical.

You are out of luck. if you would have offered him more money, he would have come quicker. He may have had other cars to tow, so you were not an emergency to him.
Welcome to a business practice that is not monitored. A towing company can do whatever they like. The only thing you can do is contact the Better Business Bureau and report them. But I don't think anyone will be checking with the BBB before they leave their car overnight. Bottom line is, and you admit it, is that you broke the rules of the grocery store and they did what they did by getting it towed. The towing company can and usually will get as much money as they can out of anyone.
police action no, better business bureau of your area yes, as they will then put their own little plan of action into play to investigate the matter, and if he does the same thing to them in their little reenactment, then they will crack down on him, and advise tourist to avoid him, and possible have him brought to justice.
in this matter you have no choice but to pay, however, a sign must be posted in clear view inside the parking lot that cars will be towed at the owners expense. if no sign exists then you could beat this.
Yes they should. Contact a lawyer about this. I am sure that the police will understand about this, because they are against drunk driving (at least I hope they are) and also the tow company lied to you.

You should also get in touch with the other guy who got charged differently. I am sure he was also pissed off.

You better act fast on this though, I heard stories in the news of people who got their cars towed, and got them back missing parts, and damaged. If I were you, I'd start right away. Good luck!

Advice on how to return an item to a company that won't respond to me?

Advice on how to return expensive item to company that won't respond to me?

I have this thing I bought for 60 dollars online and got it through the mail. It is called My Snoring Solution. It completely does not work on me. They say that they will refund your money if you return it with the packaging slip. But I distinctly remember there being no packaging slip in the envelope. I have tried to contact them twice but they have not emailed me back.

There is no phone number for this company whatsoever. I checked my package and the website- nothing. They don't even have an email address- all they have is one of those fill-in- the-box-with-your-message pages. The day I got it, I emailed them saying it did not work and I wanted to return it. they have not emailed me back.

I am not sure if they are even reading their emails. I got this thing because I have sleep apnea and I hoped it would hold my chin out so as to unblock the airways, as this is the express function of the sling. Instead, it presses my chin backwards, into my neck, making my breathing worse than before.

I am not sure who to call. Also, I have checked my email and for some reason, I cannot find evidence of my online purchase. I searched and searched. Help!Advice on how to return an item to a company that won't respond to me?
You said you bought this item online. I am assuming that you used either a debit or credit card to pay. If so, just return the item.

Next phone your bank and tell them you need to file a ';Reg E'; complaint. The bank will help you complete paper work and the bank will retrieve your money. It could take the bank a few weeks, but you will probably get it back pretty quick.

You are allowed to file a REG E complaint because you ordered a product wasn't working. You returned it and should have received a total refund. Don't tell the bank more details than that.

If you tell the bank too much, they might just think you are filing a REG E complaint because you aren't happy with the purchase. People who aren't happy with the product still need to pay for their purchase.

You, on the other hand, received a product that doesn't work so you returned it, and you are entitled to a full refund.

Many internet retailers use this technique. They promise money back satisfaction, then they don't answer phones or emails so most consumers give up. Meanwhile the retailer has sold you an overpriced worthless item and kept all you money.

Can anyone offer some help or advice Im having trouble contacting a debt consolidation company?

I took out a debt consolidation plan witha company called Clear Cut Finance about 2 years ago as I had a bad accident at work and was unable to pay my credit card companies.

All was going fine until Febuary when they didnt pay any of my creditors at all so I decided that I would cancel the contract and reach an agreement with the companies direct, this is where the problems started I have been unable to contact them either by telephone using a personalised number I was given or their main number, by e-mail and also by the well contact you page on their website.

I look through the contract and it said I could cancel the contract by putting it in writing and giving them 4 weeks notice which I did and then I cancelled my standing order 4 weeks later.

They have now started paying the creditors again even through they are no longer taking money from me so I have again tried contacting them but nothing. Can anyone offer some help or advice Im having trouble contacting a debt consolidation company?
Well to be honest it seems you have done all that you can by phoning, writing and emailing and as you have got copies and you can prove it you should be ok. The only thing that would happen is that they would have to try and get the money back from your creditors that they have been paying. It does sound like they are a little dodgy if you dont seem to be able to get hold of them. I wouldnt go by the Companies House website though .. it doesnt really mean anything if accounts are a little overdue.

I think the best thing you could do would be to contact your creditors and explain the situation and see if you can come to an agreement direct with them. They could then refuse any payment from Clear Cut Finance. Also it may be in your best interest to contact the citizens advice bureau and see what they suggest. They may be able to write to this company too and that would just be more to back you up.

Good luck with it .. I hope you manage to get it all sorted out. Have been in a very similar situation very recently so know what you are going through.

*Edit* Have just been on their website (which is crap!!) and thought why dont you put your phone number in and ask for a call back as though you are a new customer. I bet they phone you back then!! Maybe use a different phone number so they wouldnt be able to search it?? Just an idea. Can anyone offer some help or advice Im having trouble contacting a debt consolidation company?
If you are English try Byrom and Keely they are very good, you will have phone calls from people asking for the debts to be cleared but they soon stop the address is

Send a letter of termination to the company at whichever address they have listed. Make sure its registered mail with return receipt. Close the account that you were using to fund the program, you don't want those auto debits to hit your account again. You should be fine if you have followed these steps.

If you or someone you know needs a professional web design, please feel free to contact me @ www.hidef-media.com - I'm a young entreprenuer who takes work seriously. More can be found on the site: www.hidef-media.comIm starting a web design company, www.hidef-media.com does anyone have any advice about getting clients?
Hi, I started out like you, just a small web design firm and I started small and worked my way up. I started just by references. I then tried out putting out signs on the weekends for small businesses for professional websites starting at $500 per. That worked out better than I anticipated. References are key though. About 80% of my business is referrals and references.

Now I have some very big clients including one NFL Charities website a chain of restaurants and several big companies in the DFW area. I have a staff and an office and I started in my apartment!

You could also try google ads. It's not that expensive and can get some good leads. Also, maybe look into putting an ad in the paper in the services section. Usually pretty cheap. • Should we be seeking legal advice for our business due to a repairs company not doing their job?

We run a chip shop which had a brand new range installed just over a year ago. It had a years warrenty and at just under a year it started to go wrong. A part stopped working and was causing noises which shook the whole building as gas ignited underneath it.

The company we use ';fixed it';, installing a new part and only charging for labour as the part was covered in the warranty. It then had a 6 month warranty on it as it was new.

Literally a few weeks later we had the same problem on another part which was then replaced too.

Again just a matter of weeks later the noise started again and this time they fixed it without having to replace any parts.

So far they have been out about 6 times in total and insure us all is running as it should and days or a few weeks later there is another problem. This often means we have reduced capacity to serve customers and pay out a fortune in labour charges.

Last Thursday another part broke down. The company were called and said they would get someone to us as soon as they could. Now it's Sunday and the whole range had stopped working and nobody has been out to fix it. This means we had to close. They tell us someone will be out on Tuesday but it means being closed tomorrow to and probably also Tuesday while they fix it. This is our buisiest time of year and we rely on the summer business to get us through the winter. Not only are we loosing business by being closed but we have staff on saleries who will have to be paid regardeless and a huge amount of stock, prepared for a busy day which will have to be binned.

Is there anything we can do? Is it worth contacting a solicitor over this?Should we be seeking legal advice for our business due to a repairs company not doing their job?
Yes, there are things that you can do, but the problem could be quite complex - especially as you are a business consumer rather than a private consumer. I would certainly recommend making an appointment with your solicitor as soon as possible and make sure that you take along copies of all paperwork and notes of what happened (or was said) and when.

I hope it gets sorted and that your chippy prospers. I like chips.Should we be seeking legal advice for our business due to a repairs company not doing their job?
You have a defective stove, Nothing in your details indicates the repair company is responcibly for that fact. They APPEAR to be doing everything they can to help. I recommend finding another repair company abnd/or buying a NEW stove.

Has anyone in Ireland dealt with the phone company Perlico I had a lot of trouble with them and need advice.?

I signed up with Perlico (over the phone) to provide me with broadband as well as take over my Eircom landline account.

They were supposed to follow up with a paper contract and a handover for me to sign for Eircom.

That was about five months ago, and I've heard nothing since, and still am with Eircom.

I went and got a 3G datacard from Vodafone for the laptop for broadband instead, which can also be used with a desktop, apparently, with a USB connector.

I need advice!!! Go to the cape or stupid boring company outing?

My best aunty in the world wants to take me to the cape for a few days on the 15th. I just realized that my dads company outing in springfield is that day too and he really wants me to go to that... he's been talking about it for weeks. I just told him that my aunt wanted to take me to the cape and he was all like '; you knew about the company outing first hun... what do you think you should do?'; and he just gave me that LOOK, and walked away all upset like i wanted to ditch him or something. I honestly think ill have more fun at the cape than hanging around with all his annoying work friends for 2 hours then going home. HELP? I just dont want to hurt his feelingsI need advice!!! Go to the cape or stupid boring company outing?
You鈥檝e already hurt his feelings 鈥︹€?br>

For your Dad to want to take you to the picnic you must be pretty special in his eyes鈥?.

The Cape is always going to be there 鈥?your Dad 鈥?may not

If you verbally agreed to go to the picnic you should uphold your commitment 鈥?else your words mean nothing.I need advice!!! Go to the cape or stupid boring company outing?
Go with your dad. It won't be that bad and go with your aunt another time that way you can do both. I really think you'll feel good about going for your dad once it's over and you won't have any guilt. You would probably feel a little guilty on your trip to the cape if you didn't go then when you do go to the cape you can just have fun with no hard feelings.
    Time to grow up.

You committed yourself to this function first. Yes, of course you'd have more fun at the cape......you'd have more fun at a funeral than a dumbass company picnic....BUT....you agreed to go.

So...unless your word is no good....you should go to the....

    Ok...nuff said.
Wear something hot to the Company party, and find yourself a rich executive to marry. Then you can live on the cape.
Company outings are crap. Your Dad should want you to be happy, and therefore should be glad that you have something to do that will make you happy, even though it involves doing it with someone else. Actually, your Dad should also be made to understand that the company outing is crap, and should go to the Cape with you and your Aunt. That way everyone will be happy. It's not like they're paying him to go to the crap company outing. And if they are, then it just further proves it's crap if the only way they can get people to come is to pay them. And they aren't paying YOU in any case. So go to the Cape and let your Dad sulk away in the rotten egg potato salad at the crap company outing, if that is really what he wants to do. If he's a middle-aged man then he's used to it by now anyway. Doesn't mean that he should be dragging you down into the crap muck company outing world with him though.

I need advice. Is this a cool name for a company?

Hey I'm starting a clothing company with my friend. We're gonna start small and sell t-shirts for the summer and see how it goes from there. We're having trouble with a good brand name. Actually, we've sorta have one: DUBii Apparel. We have a website, although its new and not finished. (www.dubiiapparel.com). Our logo is kinda cool. I wanted the name to be unique and stand out. Is it a good name?

    please be honest.

thanksI need advice. Is this a cool name for a company?
Just checked your website - there's something kind of creepy about it, that I can't put my finger on. The logo reminds me of some kind of terrorist or gang symbol.

I'm taking it you are hoping to appeal to teen guys, geeks, gamers etc.?I need advice. Is this a cool name for a company?
Yes, the name is fine, and memorable too.

If you are going to target young generation, it will really help to have some kind of interactive features on your website - it will help.

Also, in the initial stages of a company, you can give a form to visitors to share your site. Any decent name (like yours) can be grown.

Aim to reach 3000 people, and then it can self-propagate.

    All the best!
    yes
yeah its good i like it

  • Insurance company issues need help/advice?

So I just got new insurance on new car i bought. They gave me a quote of 132.. I have a ticket and an accident with MY PREVIOUS CAR. THEY KNEW ABOUT THIS BECAUSE WELL THEY OF COURSE CAN CHECK YOUR DRIVING RECORD BEFORE HAND. AND THEY ALSO ASKED ME ABOUT IT. ANYWAY, THEY SAID IT WOULD BE 134 YESTERDAY I LOOK AT MY ACCOUNT AND THEY ARE CHARGING ME 220 AND I CALLED THEY SAID THAT BECAUSE I HAVE TO SHOW PROOF THAT I WASN鈥橳 AT FAULT IN THE ACCIDENT. THEY WANT THE POLICE REPORT AND I CALLED THE POLICE DEPT THEY CAN鈥橳 PROVIDE FOR ANOTHER 12 WEEKS BECAUSE THEY ARE BACKED UP WELL SHE SAID I WILL HAVE TO PAY THAT AMOUNT UNTIL I GET PROOF BUT I CAN鈥橳 GET IT RIGHT AWAY AND THEY KNEW ABOUT THE ACCIDENT BEFORE WHY COULDN鈥橳 THEY REQUEST THAT INFORMATION BEFORE Signing ME UP AND GIVING ME A QUOTE IS THERE SOMETHING I CAN DO%26gt;??????Insurance company issues need help/advice?
They don't check your driving record, until you commit to buying the policy. That's because it costs them abotu $15 per report. So, if they give quotes to 100 people that don't buy, that's $1500 they just lost, if they check first. So, if they took your word for it, that the other person was at fault, and the info came back differently, that's why there's a rate increase.

Police reports, don't determine fault - but you can be pretty sure that if you got a ticket for your part in that accident, you WERE at fault.

See, they are surcharging you, because there was an accident, and YOUR policy paid out your damages. If someone ELSE was at fault, THEIR policy would have paid out your damages, not yours.

So that's why they think YOU were at fault. And why they didn't check, until you committed to buy the policy.Insurance company issues need help/advice?
Call your agent and ask them to talk to the underwriter. Ask if the underwriter can make an exception on your rate until you can get them the police report.

If it was a hit and run, the police report should show this and clear you. If they refuse to remove the surcharge until they get the police report, ask if you will be refunded the surcharge, since they shouldn't have charged it in the first place.

As for whether collision or comprehensive coverage pays -- in my state collision pays if it is a hit and run, comprehensive pays for things like vandalism and theft.
make use of the SE like google or yahoo to get some ideas first if you want to get the massive information, however if you do not want to spend so much time, here http://www.CarInsuranceTip.info/free-car鈥?/a> is a direct and good resource for your questions.
Evidently, your insurance paid by your collision coverage. A hit and run should have been paid by comprehensive coverage. If it had been, you wouldn't be going through this.

Company being unfair, need advice urgently?

Our company has moved over christmas. The place they have moved to is awkward to get to and involves a bus ride and a good 30min walk. When talks were in place the company said they will put a minibus on for anyone who needs it, which they have but I am not allowed on it because I can get my husbands car 1 week in three. I have asked what i am supposed to do for the other two weeks and have been told I will have to get the bus. It used to take me 10 mins to get to work before and as I have a little girl to sort out in the morning I am going to have real difficulty. I am going to have to pay for childcare now as well as travelling expenses. I feel as if I am being forced to look for another job. Has anyone got any advice?Company being unfair, need advice urgently?
tough question - i think that the company are legally obliged to offer you a voluntary redundancy package in the event of a relocation, but it may depend on how far they have moved.

I would definately seek legal advice on this, it sounds like you have a very strong case. remember to keep a record of any costs you have incurred on a daily basis.Company being unfair, need advice urgently?
i think you'll find that your company are not legally obliged to make travel to work as easy as possible for their employees...sorry - but i think you'll find that to be the case.
The company may have moved location, however, they have kept your job and its yours. They have honoured their contract but the responsibility of getting yourself into to work is yours alone. They have put on a mini bus which goes to show that they are concerned about their workforce. They might in the future decide not to provide such transport (they don't have to). If the bus is free then they can say who rides in it! But the excuse that you have the use of a car, is unrealistic, the probable factor here is that there are too many employees wishing to use this free transport. If there are too many employees wanting the bus they would have to hire another one, which involves additional costs. Does this additional cost outweigh the value of input from the staff? As there is only one bus then the answer is obvious No! At the end of the day it is your responsibility to get yourself into work.
I'd suggest talking to your manager personally and seriously ask him what he would consider a viable solution. Be honest and tell him your concerns.

If you're not satisfied with the possible solutions, move on.

    Good luck!
find out if anyone else has been told to do the same if not you have them on discrimination if they have you may have grounds to appeal as they must treat everyone the same if the mini bus is put on for staff then they have no right to tell you not to get on it as you are staff
It might be worth reading advice at Direct Gov

My health care company (Blue Cross) is totally screwing me. I need some advice.?

Basically I was given a name brand prescription that works perfectly for what I need. I was denied coverage of that medication because there was no generic equivalent. I guess Blue Cross can't afford to cover expensive medicine.

Instead they want to give me a more powerful more addictive form of medication that people buy on the street for good money.

How in the hell is this even legal. That they can deny me prescribed medication which would work far better than the addictive junk they're okay with giving me.

Aren't they supposed to be looking out for me? I am so pissed off right now and I don't know who to write or call about this. I've already tried blue cross but apparently they don't give a $#%#My health care company (Blue Cross) is totally screwing me. I need some advice.?
Nope, they, as you say, don't give a $#%#. You are more accurate then you know. What most insureds don't understand is that insurance companies are ';for-profit'; organizations. Their primary goal is to make money. They are not a charitable organization. Whatever monies they make between premiums (income) and payment of claims (expense) is money in their pocket. So, of course, they are going to do the best imitation of Scrooge possible in order to keep monies in their coffers.

Gone are the days of $10 office co-pays and $10 generic, $20 preferred brand name, and $25 non-preferred brand name drugs. Now you have $15 co-pay generic drugs and a $500 or more deductible before you pay the $25 co-pay for brand-name drugs.

What is an insured going to do? Medical insurance companies have you between a rock and a hard place. If you don't have insurance and are middle income, you pay out the wazoo. I've had two hospitalizations in the last 4 months that have made a BIG dent in my savings, but I can only ponder what I would have done had I not had the ';Big Insurance Company'; discount (almost 75% reduction)?!!?##?? Those medical bills would have bankrupted me. How do medical providers, in all good conscience, charge middle income folks w/o insurance those outrageous fees? Medical charges should be the same whether an insurance company is paying or an individual is paying out of pocket. My health care company (Blue Cross) is totally screwing me. I need some advice.?
I don't think there is much you can do. BC will only pay for generic and if there is none you have to buy it yourself. You might contact the company that makes the medication you need and they may come up with a solution, let you have it at a discount or give it to you for free. BC is not the only insurance doing that, they all do it.
That sucks. wish u would have said what med it is, and what the cost. I don't know where u live but I see 2 options. #1 Get in real good w/ Dr. Get him to say u need the med or u will not have an acceptable quality of life. Md's have power they can get ins. co. to do anything. option #2 Buy it in Mexico or Can. the meds r exactly the same harm. wise only cheaper. If u get desperate buy off the Internet, It sucks that health care in the us has come to that but many people do it. Good luck
son everything thing to do wit healtcare is screwed jus stop goin to the doctors all they do is inject u wit mercury in there vaccines and cancer ud be better of stayin away from the doctors

THEN, when they finally start drilling and hit gas, (doesn't even have to be on your land - just one the same block of acres they buy the lease rights to), you will start getting monthly royalty checks - I'm hoping of r just a couple of hundred a month to pay the land loan and taxes - with 200 acres - you could see some serious income in the futureA gas company wants to lease our 200 acres for natural gas exploration in nys. any advice?

  • Good publishing company for a beginner?! Writing advice please :]?

Lately,I've become a much more serious writer. I've begun a teen romantic about a boy and girl who meet on vacation. Boy teaches girl how to ';live life to its fullest'; and they ';fall in love'; They then are seperated by girls parents and meet again years later in girls small town. I knbwo that's not alot of info...but if you want more just tell me. I need to start thinking of a serious publishing company that i may actually have a chance with. :] Any tips/advice are welcomed!! HELP PLEASE!Good publishing company for a beginner?! Writing advice please :]?
Here is a site that gives publishers of short stories and novels.

    http://www.topicsites.com/publishers/sho鈥?/a>

First off, you need to make sure you have taken the time to edit and reedit your manuscript over and over again until there is no question in your mind that all grammar and spellings are absolutely spotless.

Second, you need to make sure there are no holes in your manuscript. By holes, I mean that there are no contradictions in what you've said in the beginning that will show later on in the work. Blonde hair and blue eyes end up brown hair and brown eyes somewhere down the line. Keep notes of all your main characters names, what they look like, etc...

If you really want a literary agent, publisher or editor to take you seriously, you need to make sure you can write an effective query letter. This, too, must be free of errors. If you can't write a simple letter, how can you expect to write a novel? Errors in your letters are instant rejections.

All your work must be formatted properly. This is called 'Industry Standard Format.' The best way to learn all these things is to go to your favorite bookstore and buy a few books on writing. I say buy, because you can mark them up with yellow pen in places that interest you. The library would frown upon this.

Get a copy of Writers Market 2007. This is a must.

Good Luck!Good publishing company for a beginner?! Writing advice please :]?
First you have to complete your book before you even think about trying to get a publisher. Unfortunately, not too many publishers will take you serious unless your writing and story telling abilities are superior.

I don't want to put a damper on your enthusiasm, but your story seems really cliche. You need to step it up and try to be more original.

Then, you need to buy the current Writer's Market and research the market you are writing for (teen romance). Find out which publishers are accepting manuscripts and read their submission guidelines. **Note: most publisher do not accept unsolicited manuscripts.

You should also write a synopsis for your book. This will come in handy when you send your query letters (a letter asking a publisher to read your manuscript). It is a lot of work trying to get a publisher to even read your manuscript. Be prepared for a lot of rejections. But, if you are serious, you need to push past them. Some rejections may have reasons why your manuscript was rejected. Use that information to revise. You will be doing many revisions.

BTW: I don't recommend self-publishing unless you have exhausted all other avenues.

    Good luck!!

My Dad was killed in a workplace accident at a multi billion dollar refinery company. I need legal advice!?

I don't mean to seem crude, but your Father chose a job that had risks. One of those risks is death and leaving his family. He got paid well for a job well done. With your own admission, he was able to raise three daughters and a wife on that pay. You should be grateful you got anything. I'm sorry for your loss, but that's the way it goes.My Dad was killed in a workplace accident at a multi billion dollar refinery company. I need legal advice!?
Go see a good lawyer. If it was here in the US they would drool the moment you told them about it.

uh... wasnt fallout 3 the ign, and gamespot game of the year? bad company wasnt even a finalist! go with fallout! hours of gameplay, great storyline, and TONS!!!!!!! of downloadable content! this is my favorite game of all-time! i LLLOOVVVEEE ITTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!! there are so many places to explore! so many characters to meet! so much to do! exit your email, go to your nearest videogame store, and demand a copy!
Fallout 3 is great while it lasts, but then when you've finished with it you realise i t wasn't the greatest game people make it out to be. I've played the demo of Bad Company and the online mutliplayer was fun but i'm not sure the community will last too long.
yes you should get fallout 3 because bad company is boring and very very very crap and fallout is very very very amazing
Fallout 3 for sure. You could probably get Bad Company later, since its only about $20 or $30 now.
I have both, fallout 3 is 10 times better than Bad Company
Buy Fallout 3. It's way better, plus it has DLC coming soon (extra levels and weapons)

  • Tax advice - paid by a Dutch company but live & work in UK?

Need advice on career since my company is merging?

    Good evening all,

My company is in the process of a merger. I am part of an full-time analyst program directly after college. My company is the company being acquired. After the news came out I seeked out other opportunites.

I was able to get a job offer from a company I had a previous offer but declined to take my current job. I promised to take the job this time and they gave me my offer which I accepted. The problem was the job did not start till July.

Now, my current job, the company who acquired us offered me a position which I had little time to think about and was forced to accept to buy more time to decide which option I wanted to go.

Staying with my current company I would get payed $10,000 more.

My question is, do you think I should stay with my company who is going to be absorbed into the new company? Or do you think I should go to the company that took me back after I initially declined their offer?Need advice on career since my company is merging?
Firstly, Congrats on the 2 jobs. You should be proud that you have scored these offers.

I'm a little confused about your desire to leave now that a merger is happening. Are you worried about your job security? If so, I would definitely take the offer that wants to take you back.

If you are more worried about the changes that are going to occur but still enjoy your job, I say stay. Better the devil you know and all that.

Will the difference in money make a profound difference to you? If not, it is a level playing field and you need to decide on what you want - the old %26amp; familiar or a new challenge.

I'm thinking though that something has made you seek new employment so I would also recommend listening to your gut instinct.

If you're still confused, maybe write up a pros and cons list for each company to help you decide what it is you're really after.

    Good Luck to you.

Need Advice about Working from Home. Company Name Text121Chat?

A friend emailed me about a text chat operator job. The name is text121chat or something of that nature. The job says all you have to do is send at least 2000 messages a month and it can be clear chatting or adult anything. I was wondering if anyone has tried this company or something like this because I do not want to get sucked into a scam or something. I believe you make $500 a month or $.25 a message. Thanks for your help.

I am a full time student and I think I could manage to send 65 message a day, they require you to log on 6 days a week. I've never tried anything like this before and it seems legit because they require proof of address and your social security card but hmmm I'm not exactly sure I need the money. Job advice.! Help! A small company sales job or a F1000 sales job, pros and cons?

I have been unemployed for a while and the money is about to run out. I received an offer today and accepted working in the contractor payroll outsourcing sales to F1000 market with A very nice 15 person family like firm financially stable. The other job offer is with a behemoth global large document imaging manufacturer. both are willing to pay the same base salary but the imaging company offers uncapped commissions but longer tougher sales hours. The small company wants to develop me and get me to six figures as soon as possible. My question is given the fact I am a divorced dad with part time custody of a 3 year old which opportunity has the greatest risks and rewards? I don't need a ton of stress right now either. I know this may seem dumb and a no brainer to some people but positive helpful feedback would be awesome....thanks in advance! By the way to add to the stress, both offers are $25,000 less a year than what I was making in my old job so I need to make commissions as quickly as possible!Job advice.! Help! A small company sales job or a F1000 sales job, pros and cons?
at the small company, will you have to deal with family drama? will ';getting to six figures'; take years and years? will they be family friendly?

will you feel like you've sold your soul if you go corporate?

can you sell a lot? do you have the talent and skills to make those extra commissions?

and most importantly, do you have the motivation and dedication to put towards the ';longer tougher sales hours';?

whatever you do, don't pick dred scott's scam.

Need ADVICE ASAP, car insurance company!!!!?

Ok...On May 30th, almost a month ago. I was in a pretty decent accident. I was driving through an area that had construction going on, little did I know there was a car off to my right (in CONSTRUCTION ZONE)-Drving!!! He tried to speed up in front of me, realizing he had no room to cut me off %26amp; (get in the right lane), he ended up side sweepeing me....all down my passenger side, causing me to hit 2 barracades!

In total, my passenger side back door is DONE,passenger side front door, passenger side fender, mirror, wheel was brand new..scuffed, hub cap is ruined, my front bumper is RUINED, my hood, my grille...

I only have liability therfore my insurance company will not be covering it...I filed a claim through them, then called the other guy's insurance company, filed a claim. By Monday I had a call back from Dairyland where he is insured, they set up an appointment for an adjuster to come check out my car. He came took pics, he said he considered it totalled, but would have to go to his office do research and get back to me with what his conclusion was.

----TOTALLED is what he said. He said that it would cost more than the car is worth to fix it. (Keeping in mind it is a 98' Honda Civic)

So i said OK. He told me he would have a new agent who deals with total losses contact me, with a quote, this WAS 3 WEEKS AGO!!!!

Not only that, the lady who took my statement some young annoying attitude B!T$H said ok, now I just need to call your witness and get his statement, she said it should only take a day!-NEVER did I get a call back that was 2 WEEKS AGO!

SO! I go back to the adjuster, calling him saying hey I havent heard from either of THEM, whats going on, come to find out the girl had been on vacation for ONE WEEK, ok well what about the other week? AND AS FAR AS THE NEW TOTAL LOSS AGENT!!!!?

What is going on!? I have never been into an accident, what the HELL IS TAKING SO LONG!? This isnt my fault some dumb little BOY hit my car, and driving around with a MEESSSSSSSSSED up looking car, and theyre just going to drag their feet!!!?

what do i do?Need ADVICE ASAP, car insurance company!!!!?
wow, that's some story! sorry it's such a mess-Dairyland is really usually fast with claims, too. so they have pics and (by their rules) he turned it over to someone more experienced in total losses-and they needed a witness' statement-and they haven't called. so call the claims center and tell them super cold politely you need a supervisor for an escalated claim please and give the claim number, and if that supervisor can't explain, ask for the escalation supervisor(unless that's who you already got) and ask specifically what is delaying the claim. they may need to call you back (sorry) because they can't leave you on hold too long. (the phone system may kick your call off). and IF they can't tell you anything at all, you may need an attorney-but call the state DOI first to complain.Need ADVICE ASAP, car insurance company!!!!?
I heard usually when a claim is taking too long, suing the at fault driver in small claims court becomes an option. Get a few estimates from body shops or print off the blue book value and then sue.
stay on the insurance company and if they continue to drag there feet file a complant with the bbb (better bisness bueru) that will speed them up

    Advice for bad gas company?

I pay my gas £20 a month via a card and my gas remains on permanent I never had any problems or complaints with my company for the full 2 years and 9 months Ive been with them but then I get a bill for £1400 so I phone them and they said for the last 2 years their computer has been overwriting my meter readings so I was getting underestimated bills.I have low income and cant afford to pay what their asking and I wont except a prepayment meter, as it is their fault (they admit that) surely there is some other way around this mess they got me into, they want me to pay £45 instead of £20 a month which would be fine but they also want another £40 a month for 2 years to pay off the bill I cant afford all that.any advice?Advice for bad gas company?

It's just one of those things. Companies do relocate from time to time. They don't have to lay on transport for you either.

I suggest you look for another job that suits you more, quietly, and without a fuss. Then when you leave be pleasant and smiley and pat yourself on the back (because usually you get a pay rise when you move).

What you should definitely NOT do is be negative, argumentative and stroppy. It's a small world and the message will get around to other employers. Besides, that would also make you unhappy.

I should add that I know that 30 mins walk and a bus ride sounds a lot to you, because you are used to less. But many people travel far longer to work. My own journey is two hours each way. But then I do not have a small child to organise - so I see your point. Anyway, be happy and positive and good things will come back to you.Company being unfair, need advice urgently?
The company are essentially requiring you to work in another location without giving you any assistance with either the travel itself or the increase in travel costs. Did they hold a consultation period for all the affected staff? If so this should have been discussed during that process. If not they are likely to be operating outside the law.

It doesn't sound like the new place is going to be convenient for you anyway, regardless of whether you are allowed to use the minibus so moving on may be the best thing. But don't let them get away with treating you like this.

I would ask to speak to head of Human Resources/ Personnel or whatever you have there and explain in simple terms that since they are making no effort to help you with the travel problems they have inflicted upon you, you are seeking employment elsewhere and that you are considering taking the company to a tribunal on grounds of constructive dismissal.

They may suddenly find they're able to help you after all; even if they don't they will know that they are operating outside the law and may offer you some compensatory payment whether you choose to stay or not.

if you want advice with the legal side of things you can contact Citizens Advice. You haven't mentioned unions so I'm guessing you don't belong to one? Failing that you can find a lot of advice on-line - www.hrzone.co.uk for example.

Good luck and don't let the bxxxxxxx grind you down!
Is there any way that maybe you could ride into work with someone from your job?

Would you be able to change your shift?

I would think that those are the only two options that you might have....
I would go to Human Resources, if your company is big enough to have one, and explain your predicament. If you can't get anywhere with them, you can call the labor board and see what they say - I have no idea what state you're in or what the law is.

As the move sounds like this job is more inconvenient for you, you should probably start looking for something better situated as well.
Get a push bike or your own car you
Unfortunately in this life sometimes things get tough.

You can either whinge and moan and complain life's not fair like a 5 year old spoilt brat or you can grow up accept the change and get on with your life or infact find another job.

My mum used to push 2 kids in a pushchair 3 miles up a hill in the 1960's to drop them off for childcare and then walk a further mile to work.

She didn't start all this 'is it illegal nonsense, it's not fair', she just did it.

Nowadays you've all become so mollycoddled it's unbelievable. It makes me sick.

What do you want your company to do, go bankrupt for the sake of you not wanting to travel a bit extra?

Whenever anyone takes a job there is ALWAYS a chance things will change or circumstances will alter.

You don't have an automatic right to have a job. Thank yourself lucky you're not unemployed.
You have given some detail....It sounds like you might have a case for sex discrimination relating to your childcare needs, especially if the rather odd sounding minibus business affects your childcare arrangements.

Assuming you are not in a union, I suggest you contact ACAS.
Well, I you should always be looking for other jobs, just in case the one you have fail. If I were you, I would look for a new job, and if they hire you, and ask when you can start, say you have to give your 2 weeks notice at your current job. Then complain about this and if nothing happens, quit. However dont be an *** about it, you might need them for reference later. Just say you can no longer afford to feed your family, they will either budge or let you go. If they budge, tell the other job nevermind. And if they dont, go work at the other job immediately. Make sure you look at things like job security etc. But its always a good policy to continuously keep looking for jobs, just in case.

Need Legal advice on small cheat in company?

I have a colleague who started loaning money from me telling her sad story. Much later, I found that she has been loaning from other colleagues as well. After she was satisfied, she walked away from the job, now no-where to be found. She is a Singaporean and I have evidence on transaction $$ to her. Also, her daughter's sms, admitting to return portion of what her mother owed us in 2 weeks time. But she is now avoiding us and her boyfriend, whom we know is a loan-shark, is threatening us with violence.

The amount is small but it is the social responsible to deal with such irresponsible cheat, ripping off others hard earn money. How can I take legal action to get her caught to prevent further cheating? Will the police take up the case?

We whould not allow such parasites to be happily enjoying.Need Legal advice on small cheat in company?
Practical Decision: Kiss it goodbye.Need Legal advice on small cheat in company?
It is not a matter for the police. it is a simple breach of contract civil matter. That is a private matter and the expenses of an investigation and a lawsuit must be born by you, not the taxpayers. Sorry, but that is the way it is. Check the real property records to see if she owns a home or has some other significant assets but if not, then write it off. There are ways to sue people that you can't find, but unless you know of some property that could be used to satisfy the judgment, then there is no use in making the effort. If you feel strongly about it, then hire a private investigator / skip tracer to help locate her.

Please don't type IN all caps, it appears you are shouting. We can all hear you, no need to shout.

I would rather pay a flat rate, not dependent upon how fast you work. You need to estimate your time and be sure you include the cost of cleaning supplies. You flat rate should be based on zip code (higher prices in the nicer neighborhoods) and also on the square footage or number of rooms.Advice on pricing for my cleaning company.?
I am not sure if this is commercial cleaning or residential, with commercial you may be able to get away with those prices, but for a house cleaning it seems a little steep. In Chicago where I live, three hour job will cost no more than $100. DO some research and call companies like Merry Maids and ask for quotes to see how much they charge- and remember you have to keep in competitive, so the customer will use your services and not theirs.

I need some advice. my home insurance company wont pay out because my claim can't be justified????

on the 30th june i accidentally knocked my tv over when cleaning behind it.i was 35weeks pregnant. the screen cracked so i phoned insurance. since then i have made umpteen phone calls as i seem to be getting no where. they had someone come out and have a look at it and i had a phone call from them earlier saying it still cant be justified how the tv fell over. he said he will send out a witness statement for me to write and sign. (its legal and general) i would really appreciate some advice on what i should do now? thanksI need some advice. my home insurance company wont pay out because my claim can't be justified????
In general, ';oops I knocked my tv over'; isn't covered under the standard homeowners policy. So, the tv falling down - for WHATEVER reason, isn't going to be a covered claim. Contents - including televisions - are covered on a named peril basis. That means, fire, theft, vandalism, vehicular damage (like a car driving through your house), explosion, that sort of thing.

Talk to your agent. See if your policy would cover that. Most of the time, it won't. Until/unless you get a denial in writing from the company, the claim is open. If you do get the denial, look at your policy, and see why the claim is denied. You should be able to see it, in your policy, also.

  • Need advice on a good company to work for as a truck driver?

I'm in the process of getting my cdl's and am very interested in driving tractor trailor for a good company. I'm 20 yrs old and will be able to handle any work load. I currently work at sysco in the warehouse and am very interested in driving for them but would like to know if there were any other good companies to work for. Ive also thought about pepsi, coke, budweiser but am focused on sysco because i know the money is good, Anybody know the average saleries of other companies? Thanks for all answersNeed advice on a good company to work for as a truck driver?
Most companies have a minimum age limit... usually 23. This is a stipulation placed on them by the industry and insurance.

Pepsi, Coke, and any of the beer companies are good places to work, but drivers usually start on a casual on-call basis, covering holiday and sick leave for other drivers. It may take quite some time to actually get a full time, or somewhat permanent part time, job with them.

Since you are already with Sysco, stick with them for a few more years, and then stay there as you obtain your license. It may help open some positions for you if you already have a work history with the company.Need advice on a good company to work for as a truck driver?
At the age of 20 most companies will not hire you. The insurance companies want the driver to be 23. But there are a few that will, try to find a local company they might.

Try Sysco they might hire you on as a driver...

Legal advice about my employment. Company forget to give new contract after probation period....?
    It doesn't matter.

Once your probation period is finished, if you don't hear otherwise, it is assumed that you have completed it successfully. It is not mandatory for them to give you any kind of letter or contract stating that you've completed it.

That said, even though you are a permanent employee, you still do not have full employment rights until after you've been employed for one year, even if you have completed your probation. But no, they can't just sack you for no reason.

They only have to give you anything in writing if you didn't complete it successfully, so they would either want to extend it or terminate you.Legal advice about my employment. Company forget to give new contract after probation period....?
Do you have a copy of your first contract? (you should!) If you do, read through the contract to see what it says about when the probation period ends. If it implies that you'll be filling out another contract, then make an appointment to speak to your employer to follow through with the new contract.
Well it all depends on what kind of company you work at. Most places dont make you feel out another contract or anything like that, once your out of your probation period they cant fire you just to fire you. You should be safe.
They usually sucker people into the continuous working after the contract is up. They may have had something in fine print in the first contract where it said you will continue working without signing a new contract!
I really doubt that they really ';forgot';. They are probably trying to see how much they can get away with.

what do i do?Need ADVICE ASAP, car insurance company!!!!?
wow, that's some story! sorry it's such a mess-Dairyland is really usually fast with claims, too. so they have pics and (by their rules) he turned it over to someone more experienced in total losses-and they needed a witness' statement-and they haven't called. so call the claims center and tell them super cold politely you need a supervisor for an escalated claim please and give the claim number, and if that supervisor can't explain, ask for the escalation supervisor(unless that's who you already got) and ask specifically what is delaying the claim. they may need to call you back (sorry) because they can't leave you on hold too long.
