Advice on joining IT companies in India, Ness Technologies?

I have offers from


1. Xoriant


2. Ness Technologies


3. MSCI - Morgan Stanely Capital Investments





Can someone please help in understanding the work culture in such companies.. I have heard of some yahoo group where this discussion happens, can someone please give me the name of the group?





I am very much interested in joining Ness Tech, but could not find anyone working there in my friend circle, please let me know.

With my stay out there I can suggest you the following,good %26amp; bad both, its upto u next to decide:





Why Should you Join:


1.Yeah you can enjoy life over there with out any work pressure.


2.They will give you crackers for free in diwali and one helmet too to protect your brain.


3.Not much pressure on official timings, its really flexible!


4.Location is good and right into the centre of city.


5.Free Snacks.....!!!

Why you should not join??





1. If u r someone who works hard with a hope that your work will get recognistion or u ll get good appraisal then look for someother option. As here most of the time its not your work which will take u higher. At times people who sit ideally throughout the year get the best of the appraisals for their out of box thinking.








2. If you are joining as a fresher then mind it they have terrible kind of employemnt bond. The terms and clause of which has been specified in such a confusing manner so as to drag you in trouble in future.





3. Exit process from this company is terrible too. They start behaving like loosers the moment you quit your job and they know that you are not going to take back your resignation .


They become very hostile too.





4. There wont be much difference in your salary even after 2-3 years of your stay unless and until you have real big contacts. Dont think that you will get a good hike with your outstanding performance at work. So if your getting a good initial salary with which you can stay here for some time then its fine.





5. You never know after joining on what job profile you may end up in: Support, Technical writer, Quality or Dev (very few).

Watever your name may be? I worked in Ness Technology for 2 years and 1 month. On the basis of my experience i will suggest you not to join there.


So, the next question arises in your mind is why and then why i worked there for 2 years.


I was having no other option. I joined Ness as fresher and was having 2 year bond.So, anyhow i had to stay there for 2 years. You won't believe,the day my bond got over, the same evening i resigned.

If u r interested in dev/test, Don't even think of that.


Remove that from ur options.

I have join ness as a fresher in sep 2005.





Ness is a sevice based company..





I am not very sure abt the Quality of work u wil get there.But usually u wil not have much work pressure there...........

Its really good that you have multiple options.


I worked in Ness for some 2 years. I had joined there as a fresher. So below is my experience


1. on the very first day you become a bonded labour of Ness for two years and for a amount of 2 lakhs. You are at mercy of the MANAGMENT


2. if you are a fresher from computer science background. you should forget all dreams of being developer. Ness mostly does testing work and development work is limited to BUG fixing only.


3. If you are having hopes of learning new things, just forget it, as most of the ppl higher up(like managers and leads) are not even engineers and those who are mostly from Non computer science background


4. Forget of Onsite hopes, even if you get it will be for weeks only and for that also you will have to SIGN ANOTHER BOND


5.Apprisals are nothing more than a formality. First of all hike is bad and that too is determined by non-work things(like your sex and place of origin).


6. Even internal award process is just an eyewash, all depends upon how much butter you put to your manager


7. and the moment you resign , all your good works are forgotten and you are just a lame duck for them. They will bully you to extract the last ounce of work from you .


8. and the worst party, even though the aggrement says that both employee and employeer can leave/terminate by paying basic of 2 months. they can fire you by paying 2 months basic, but they wont leave you even a day earlier than 2 months even when you are willing to pay the notice period.











The list is endless...............





so my advice would be, join ness, only if you dont have any other option.
