File a complaint against the company with the Better Business Bureau. Companies don't like to have a bad reputation and they will most likely take care of your problem quickly. Assuming you've contacted the business owner, give him one more opportunity to rectify your problem with you advising him that you may consider notifying the Better Business Bureau (BBB) of his willingness to repair the faulty window installation.
Should this bit of ';encouragement'; not work...call the BBB and report his company for unprofessional work and poor customer relations.
Because this is a civil issue, you could either contact a local attorney or the district court clerks office to file a small claim against the business.
You may have to pay a filing fee in the beginning, however, the amount can be recovered when presenting your case before the judge!

I would start with a call the window manufacturer, the Co. that made the window....
they do not want windows that are not working and people talking bad about them
First you may want to call the company to let them know you will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau, and then do it. If the window was expensive, or you have the time and money to invest, take the company to small claims court.
You will have to have a guarantee from the company, and you will have to prove the company did not live up to it's end of the bargain, but many times, judges will side with the consumer as so many businesses are getting more and more brazen about ripping off the public!
Then the company will have to refund your money, pay court costs and filing fees, and you'll have some satisfaction knowing that this company will be forced to be more careful in the future!

If the window itself is the problem there should be a warranty. If installation is the problem see what the small print says on their contract or invoice about warranting work. If you get no relief voluntarily you can file a complaint with BBB and/or sue in small claims court.
Check with your local Consumer's affairs organisation for advise...in mean time report them to your local and their local BETTER BUSINESS OFFICE for their missdeed

if your windows are recently installed the firm should rectify the fault under the guarentee.if they wont go to cab for advice failing that go to small claims court and seek legal advice
Are you sure the window is at fault..........Does the work come with a guarantee.........Is this guarante still in force.......If the answers are yes to these then... you have the option of employing a solicitor...............But before this I would go to the window company with a written complaint.........Give them a time limit to rectify the problem....Hand this to them....then tell them that if it is not rectified by the given time, you will contact the local newspapers and television, of there mal practise............If this doesn't work , then you must take up a solicitor, or at least talk with one........Good Luck
some great answers here. the best way to avoid this is to NOT pay up front and make sure the guarantee is valid... also there is a right to products that are paid for to be in working order. you hv a strong case. get on it b4 the company dissolves and shows up under a new name. that is when u r screwed!
