I have this thing I bought for 60 dollars online and got it through the mail. It is called My Snoring Solution. It completely does not work on me. They say that they will refund your money if you return it with the packaging slip. But I distinctly remember there being no packaging slip in the envelope. I have tried to contact them twice but they have not emailed me back. There is no phone number for this company whatsoever. I checked my package and the website- nothing. They don't even have an email address- all they have is one of those fill-in- the-box-with-your-message pages. The day I got it, I emailed them saying it did not work and I wanted to return it. they have not emailed me back. I am not sure if they are even reading their emails. I got this thing because I have sleep apnea and I hoped it would hold my chin out so as to unblock the airways, as this is the express function of the sling. Instead, it presses my chin backwards, into my neck, making my breathing worse than before. I am not sure who to call. Also, I have checked my email and for some reason, I cannot find evidence of my online purchase. I searched and searched. Help!Advice on how to return expensive item to company that won't respond to me?
Go here: http://www.whois.net/ and type in the name of the website to find out who owns it. You might get lucky and see all the information you need about them including a contact number.
I hope this helps!
AuntieAdvice on how to return expensive item to company that won't respond to me?
You have just learned a very valuable lesson... NEVER buy medical devices on-line, from some company you can not deal with in person. If you can't call them on the phone before you buy... if you can't walk in the door and speak to them in person... do NOT spend a dime with them.
You have been had!

Advice on Interview with former customer?? Personal Good(?)- Company Bad!?
I asked this at the wrong time of day yesterday...can anyone help today?
The man is going on a 2nd interview next week. Whoopie!! The thing is, one of the men he's interviewing with USED to work for one of the man's customers. It's possible that the interviewer does not have a very good vision of the man's soon-to-be-former employer. However, he would call the man when he needed to get things done. The man cannot remember a time he wasn't able to help the interviewer -but is concerned about the possible negative light of the company he's almost out of. Anyone have any ideas/advice on how to handle this potentially tricky situation? Anyone face anything similar? Give me your best shot.Advice on Interview with former customer?? Personal Good(?)- Company Bad!?
I think that the interviewer should have a good impression of the ';man';. He does need to watch and not bad mouth the company where he works. It is touchy since the interviewer may start the conversation. He needs to be very professional since it may leave a bad impression on the interviewer. But the company should not affect the ';Man'; as long as he is professional about it. Other than that, it looks good. 2nd interview, favorable position with one of the interview.Advice on Interview with former customer?? Personal Good(?)- Company Bad!?
Honesty (ethics) will handle the situation. I can see why not many will answer this question - it is poorly written. However, if I understand your question it boils down to honesty. You are NOT trying to promote a company that is bad and the customer will appreciate the honesty. Conversely, where the ';bad'; company can help must also be emphasized. In this manner the principles of ethics will win out in the long run and doing what is right will prevail. The customer will appreciate that and may be a customer again when it counts.
I left a large company and took 98% of my business with me. In a company survey to those clients the number one reason was the ethical conduct of me as a salesman. The reason they did business with me was honesty. The company thing really didn't matter.
Good luck in your quest.

A cell phone company is about to sue me!!! Legal advice needed!?
I live in Russia but back in June I traveled to the US and I used my phone there and at the time I was exceedingly surprised to see that it actually worked in the States, it appeared that my provider there was AT%26amp;T instead of Megafon - one of the major cell phone providers in Russia whose services I used. Not knowing what was the matter I assumed that Megafon was a subsidiary of AT%26amp;T or something... Anyway, after a while I could no longer use the phone because the signal disappeared and remembering that the phone showed that my provider was AT%26amp;T, I called them to inquire as to why my phone ceased to have a signal... I explained everything to them and they told me a most peculiar thing, they told me that Megafon is NOT their subsidiary and they don't even have towers in the US and that it looks like their signal was going off the AT%26amp;T towers for a while and then stopped... Well, It was a good enough explanation to me.
When I got back to Russia my phone still didn't work, I found out that I owe the Russian company about $500 for using their services in the US. I refused to pay, 'cause I reason since they have no towers in the US they can't charge you for using the services of some other company ('cause it looks like while I was in the US, I used the AT%26amp;T services, 'cause the signal was going off the AT%26amp;T towers), and if I have to pay, shouldn't I pay AT%26amp;T? Why do I have to pay Megafon? Now Megafon threatens to sue me if I don't pay them the above amount. I don't think it's fair. Any idea what I can do?A cell phone company is about to sue me!!! Legal advice needed!?
You can pay your bill. Next time, read the contract.A cell phone company is about to sue me!!! Legal advice needed!?
What happened was you had roaming charges added, although you were off another providers towers you still get dinged for it.
Tell them to take you to court,if you believe you are right, this fault is none of your doing and seems to be a technical sort of bleed over.Your arguments are perfectly valid, pay them not a cent. However, they have the whip hand by cutting your service completely, you should look elsewhere for a provider now.The thing that they are really being honest about is the you were actually on their service without first notifying them of your trip, this is just a measure of innefficiency on their part,in this respect they are right and you should pay them ,as they did provide the service and you did use it.
It's called roaming, and it involves companies having agreements to use each other's towers and switching services. You pay your own provider, they share that with the local provider (AT%26amp;T).
Your phone agreement probably makes mention of this when travelling internationally, although it may not be specific of how much it costs. For a situation like this, $500 is not that outrageous, I know people who have incurred $3000 fees for overseas travel.

Yes, you owe them the money.
Just started a company and I am clueless pls gimme advice?
we are 4 partners. Joe, Sam, my husband and me.
Bank account was opened in Joe and Sams names
We have no contract
Joe and Sam registered the Pty Ltd
been going for 4 months now, my husband and I have been bringing in all the business and they have done nothing.
As a salary - we have been taking 50 % of the profit each month so there is still a bit of money in the bank
Now we wanna go on our own . How can we make sure we get 50 % of that money or more? We cant just walk out and let them take whats left . Cant afford a lawyer right now but I belong to legalwise - can they help?
Whats the first step? register a cc?
I am not blacklisted but I have been a bad payer with my accounts - will I be able to get a business cheque account?
Thanks for your adviceJust started a company and I am clueless pls gimme advice?
You belong to Legalwise so the 1st step will be to go and see an attorney at Legalwise. It is difficult to give you advise as I do not know who or what you are in the company, are you a shareholder , a director or an employee. Have you signed any papers at all, in whose name is the bank account and who has signing power on the cheques? No atorney will ever be able to give you any proper legal advise on Yahoo Answers because:
1. You cannot give advise without seeing all the documents and papers and without having a proper consultation;
2. It is too risky to give advise like this;
3. It will cost any attorney time and money.
So if I were you i will phone Legalwise. Some Universities Law Faculties also give ';free'; legal advise.Just started a company and I am clueless pls gimme advice?
Since there's no contract between the 4 of you, and since the bank account in not in your names, i think it will be difficult for you to prove that you are entitled to any of the money in the bank account. Did Joe %26amp; Sam require any of your details in registering the Private Company? If not, sorry because the Registrar doesn't have any proof to connect you to the company.
In simple terms, they have been tacking you for a ride. There might be no other option but to seek legal assistance.
Why don't you post this in the ';business and finance'; category instead?

Need advice opinion on choosing between two job offers... One company has horrible reputation and it's...?
not too far away from the truth. The second company has a stellar reputation, excellent benefits -- the typical sweet benefits package. Both jobs it turns out are essentially the same - glorified receptionist/ office/property mgr jobs. The base salary for job A is lower than I'm used to, but includes the possibility to make a bonus and an apartment. Now I'm hearing horror stories about their apts and mgmt. I work there and I've seen some disorganization but no horr still $$$ maybe very high. Yet if we haven't even gotten started and I'm being slightly stiffed then who's to say where this whole thing is going? In initial discussions the job was to include higher pay, commission %26amp; an apt... now it's low w/ a capped bonus + maybe an apt depending on availability. Overall in terms of money, the offers potentially excellent but I was led to believe this job was a entry level sales position and it's just a glorified asst/receptionist/ mgr gig. That's two slight deceptions, isn't it?Need advice opinion on choosing between two job offers... One company has horrible reputation and it's...?
So while you still have this job, start searching for the right one. There are plenty of opportunities out there, and with reputable firms. But get all offers in writing. If they won't commit to their promises, keep searching. Life is too short to work for cheating employers.

Company holiday party woes..I need some advice on this!?
We're having a holiday party at work and since I've only been there a few months, I'm obligated to go. I didn't want to at first because I don't have a boyfriend at the moment and everybody is going to be bringing their spouses/boyfriends/girlfriends, etc. So I figured I'd just go and bring my best friend with me. My friends know who she is and are excited to meet her, but I don't want to give off a lesbian vibe to people. I managed to do that once before when I brought my other best friend with me to my grandmother's 50th wedding anniversary. She invited my best friend so she came with and my aunt made insulting lesbian comments all night.
Now, my friends know who she is so I don't care, but I don't want other people to get the wrong impression. What do you all think of this?Company holiday party woes..I need some advice on this!?
smile, be brave, enjoy the party, but do be aware of how you carry yourself with your friend, it is easy to give off the wrong vibes (esp. as the answer above says - to the those who can be ignorant - it's your friends that really matter!). try %26amp; think of a casual answer to people if you hear of rumours, shrug it off with a laugh %26amp; joke. smiling, being aware, but not too afraid can help, my friend is a lesbian, but is quite convincing as straight, just to keep the rumours at bay.
hope you do eventually enjoy the party!Company holiday party woes..I need some advice on this!?
I would bet my paycheck your work people are more mature than your close-minded aunt.
I think wrong impressions are a fact of life that you will never avoid. I know I find it more efficient to find ways to live with that simple fact than to alter my quality of life in an attempt to to do the impossible of never giving anyone a wrong impression. Personally, I work at correcting wrong impressions when - and if - the opportunity arises and letting the actions of others reflect on them more than me at all times. Who am I to say what others should think? Why would I let those thoughts of others rule my life?
Were the rude and ignorant comments of a 70+ year old woman so horrible that you and your friend were blinded to everyone else who was at the party? Take what you like and leave the rest.
No matter what you do some people are immature and need to grow up. They have nothing better to do then to assume a relationship with two people.
You know what is or isn't going on between you and your friend. It's no one else business.
Do to your aunt like I did to my uncle, next time you see her with a female friend make the same remarks to her. And she will definitely speak up to you. Then tell her and remind her what she did to you at the family party. My uncle realize and apology to me for he did and called my friend and apology to him also. Now he's really careful with his remarks because you don't always know what the relationship is between two people. And it's none of your business what is going on between two people. And people need to grow up and think before they speak.

My parents are redoing their roof this summer with solar panels, any advice on companies in San Diego?
There are a number of companies in the area that do solar roofing, I would check out www.solarcommunities.com. Good Luck!My parents are redoing their roof this summer with solar panels, any advice on companies in San Diego?
No, but I bet the BBB can help!My parents are redoing their roof this summer with solar panels, any advice on companies in San Diego?
In general, they should get bids from several companies, and there are a lot in your area. Everyone is hungry for business. Ask for local references, then actually go and visit those installations. If they haven't done work in your area, then you're taking your chances - they could be good, could not be.
If any installer tries to use a pressure tactic on you, like a discount that is only good if you sign the contract immediately, walk away. There are tons of installers that will compete for your job.
Try to plan for both solar hot water and electric. Hot water is the one that pays back the fastest, even if it's not as high-tech or sexy as solar electric.

Help! I need advertising advice! How do I get companies logos onto my poster, or website, etc.?
I want to get sponsors for our event but I don't know how to get their logo onto the poster or website. Do I need a special soft ware? How do I request the Logo from the company? Thanks!Help! I need advertising advice! How do I get companies logos onto my poster, or website, etc.?
You don't need the logos until you get the sponsorship, and once you do, they will be happy to send you their logo in the format you need (most likely you want jpegs). The Marketing/Public Relations department would be the ones to contact for the logos/information on use.Help! I need advertising advice! How do I get companies logos onto my poster, or website, etc.?
This is not an advertising question, this is a *computer* question, much like your other one was.
You need to find someone who can personally explain to you how to copy, move, and convert files of various types within your computer. Most major companies have their logos prominently displayed in various file formats on their Web sites. All you need to do is copy, save, and possibly convert the image files. How you would do this depends on what type of software you're using to create your posters, brochures, etc.
Someone who knows how to use the software that's on *your* specific computer -- or at least knows what type of software you have -- would be able to give you precise, step-by-step instructions.
If you're putting a logo on something that needs to be printed, you'll need a high-resolution version of it to give to your print shop. Ask the company for a PDF, EPS or TIFF file of their logo. Let them know you'll be using it in print and what for. Some companies have specific versions of their logo to use in certain places and not in others. The logo should be at minimum, 300 dpi for print and in CMYK color format, not RGB.
For the web, you an simply find the logo using Google Image search, or on their website. Left-click on it, select ';Save Picture As'; and then save it to your hard drive. Then you can send it to whoever needs it or import it into your website program.

I need some advice. I have been scammed by a company in FL. How do I find a Lawyer? What type of Lawyer?
It's a company that sells prepaid vacations at resorts. This past Oct, we tried to use one of our vacations and were denied. The hotel had vacancies, its just that they wanted us to sign addtl' documents that appeared to be ';signing up'; again--I refused--so they would not take my reservation. They have my money, yet won't provide the service. Their rating is an ';F'; on the BBB--found out too late!! I have all the documentation I need, i.e, emails, signed contract, receipts, etc. Any ideas on finding a Lawyer to help? Thank you to anyone who can help.I need some advice. I have been scammed by a company in FL. How do I find a Lawyer? What type of Lawyer?
You will need to file a law suit in the state where the company is based. I suggest you confine yourself to that.

Conduct a search to find out what company it is, where it is based and see if you can join into any class action suits against it. You will have a better chance of getting paid if you join forces and you can afford a better lawyer if you join forces with other people. You could also possibly find someone who lives in the state and can file suit there.
The previous answers have good points. Contact the Attorneys General of the State involved and find out if they have any pending law suits that you can join, or at least refer your own lawyer to.
If you bought it/paid for it by credit card then you should have insurance and the credit card should try to use their own lawyers to get your money back. If you paid for it on your own then it will be your responsibility.I need some advice. I have been scammed by a company in FL. How do I find a Lawyer? What type of Lawyer?
try complaining to your local attorneys general office, and I saw a news show about that very same thing, but I can't remember any of the facts, sorry
How did you pay for the vacation? if it was by credit card you credit card company can refund you as long as you show them proof or call you bank if you paid by check get the information that you can from them b/c when your check was cashed their is a routing number on the deposit so you can get more information of where it went. You need to look on the internet see if there are any mass suites going on against this company unfortunately unless you spend a good amount of money hiring a lawyer to get your money back will be a waste of money also if the company filed for bankruptcy your stuck with it. The type of lawyer would depend on the amount of money they kept you do have the option of taking them to small claims court because I'm guessing this wasn't for over a thousand dollars. Make sure for court you take all your documents and you can prove that you tried to contact them multiple times and have a record of recipt.

What kind of advice would you let the Soccer Mom Company know?
An unusual problem has occurred for this small multinational company: people are getting confused about dates in internal memos, purchase orders, and e-mail. Towson Hopkins handles all IT functions for SoccerMom. When he designed the company鈥檚 database, he was not aware that the format for dates in Canada and Mexico was different from the format used in the United States. For example, in Canada and Mexico, the notation 7/1/07 indicates January 7, 2007, whereas in the United States the same notation indicates July 1, 2007. Although it seems like a small point, the date confusion has resulted in several order cancellations.
Towson has asked for your advice. You could suggest writing a simple program to convert the dates automatically or designing a switchboard command that would allow users to select a date format as data is entered. You realize, however, that SoccerMom might want to do business in other countries in the future. What would be the best course of action? Should SoccerMom adapt to the standard of each country, or should it maintain a single international format? What are the arguments for each option? What kind of advice would you let the Soccer Mom Company know?
Having worked for and with international companies, I am very familiar with this misunderstanding!
The best way to handle this is to keep it as simple as you can:
1. Don't try to ';enforce'; one single global format. You will just upset people from one country or another. Not a good strategy, particularly if you are trying to force a format on a customer!
2. Share the problem with your employees. They will understand. Then, set the standard that employees MUST spell out the month, either in full or in part, when a date is used in all internal email, documents and forms. This also applies to orders taken from customers. For example April or APR, or Apr is OK, but never 4. Then, regardless of how someone writes the date based on their personal preference, their customer, or local custom, the meaning will always be clear.
3. There are other ways to do it, but if I were to advise IT, I would recommend that they adopt the Excel spreadsheet approach to store a date as a number, but ONLY allow the date to be displayed with formats such as April 11, 2009 11-Apr-09, which are explicit. Of course offer the equivalent names and abbreviations for all of the languages that your business needs to support.
I believe that these actions should address the concern.

Recent college grad, working in a large company...Just had my yearly review...advice for career development?
I am a 23 year old asian male, who has been working for a large fortune 500 company for about 16 months. I just had my yearly review with my boss, and had some questions for the feedback I was given. The one thing that I really appreciated with my bosses brutal honesty he gave me.
To sum things up, he said that overall for the first year he has been very pleased with my work ethic and job performance. He also mentioned he has passed along my name to his supervisor as someone with ';high potential.';
Even though I am asian, I am ver ';white'; in terms of culture. One of the things my boss brought up is that I need to create more visibilty within the department. He explained that the general perception about me with regards to other managers is someone who does a good job, but they don't know alot about me. He even told me how the politics within the company work, and how he will try to get me involved to lead a project next quarter to help me out. And had several comments stating, ';just between me and you'; and then tell me something about how things work with the company.
As of now, I know I do not want to stay in this department very long ,as I do have other aspirations within the company. I feel that my boss likes me in the sense that he is willing to tell me the honest truth about how things work, and even said ';With you having that potential tag on your back, things that you do whether good or bad will be magnified.:
What are you perceptions of the situation I am in? Do you think my boss is actually being genuine about what he is saying? Or do you think he tells this to most people, to feel like they have hope?Recent college grad, working in a large company...Just had my yearly review...advice for career development?
You can only take him at his word. Do you have ';skip level interviews'; at your company? That is interviews with your manager's manager? High preforming individuals are frequently ';set up'; to meet with higher level executives...you might ask about that. Also, definitely get on project teams that are cross departments. That will give you visibility, and the ability to move up. It will show you are a good team player, leader. If you see opportunities for such work, bring them to your manager. Don't wait to be ';assigned'; things...volunteer, point it out, even if they don't exist. Any movement in your company will be determined by your direct manager, so work with him. Your review was reviewed by his/her manager before it was given to you (just the way things work). Do you have a plan laid out for career growth? Not just projects, etc. but courses to attend, conferences, etc. All those are important....in skill building. If you lack visibility, it means that he cannot promote you as others perhaps are not seeing your skills...they need evidence.....work with him...and get to know his manager....good luck to you! Great position to be in and take your bosses advice and start ';working the room'; Socialize and get to know your coworkers, bosses etc.
You need to know them before you can lead them
I have been given the same feedback; that my manager thinks I do a good job but I don't show off my potential enough. This is feedback I have been given from time to time from the company I have worked for, for several years, which is also a large corporation. It really is true I think. You really need to make yourself visible and show what potential you have. When I started out close to your age I was in an entry level job and I knew right away that I wanted to move up. I always got great feedback from my managers and I have even been told that they think I have the potential to do their job on more than one occasion. When I went for the managerial job it took me at least a year to land the position because the feedback the hiring managers always got was that my managers thought I was great but I was never really exposed enough. I could have saved a lot of time moving up by putting myself out there more.
From my experience I would take what he is telling at face value. What does he gain by lying to you? A short term highly motivated individual who will quit once he finds out that his boss is lying...not likely!
Sounds like they like you and you're being groomed for better positions. Take on those projects and put your best foot forward and make sure you shine. If it's a lateral swing, don't be so quick to jump to another department of the company, but if a promotion comes along take it...
It really sounds like they like you and very happy with your work and potential. Good employees are hard to find and they want you to know they value you! Great Job!

Temp for almost 3 yrs at one company now they let me go..advice?
Im very upset. Ive been a temp at this one company for 2 1/2 yrs straight. About 3-4 other perms that work here started off as a temp from my agency.
So last week my supervisor tells me the big boss decided they dont need someone all year long so theyd have to let me go but I can come back in november (my last day is this friday). She told me she disagrees that she thinks we do need someone all year.
Im upset cause i cant go 3 months without work. also, everyone always asked when I was going to become perm...even my sup. said she wanted me to be permanent.
im emotionally and financially atttached to this place it hurts
any advice on what to do?Temp for almost 3 yrs at one company now they let me go..advice?
Apply for the unemployment benefits. You should be awarded benefits, where you can look for other permanent work, and if you don't find a perm. job then you can go back in November, but at least you'll have some income coming in.
If you see that they aren't going to call you back in, then you continue your job search, and if in the states, go to an employment office and apply for any other trainings they may have available for people who have lost their jobs.
Best of luck to you!Temp for almost 3 yrs at one company now they let me go..advice?
well if it was a temp position u should have had something else on the side however that does suck and the economy is horrible right now. i got laid off 7 months ago and im almost completely out of cash. hold ur head up high and keep a positivie attitude. u will be fine

An Advice on having a Character as a Company Trademark.?
I am on the mist of starting a business dealing with real estate in terms of investing in for- and non-profit ventures. Because of my artistic skills I have came up with a ficticious character that could positively represent my company and potentially aid us in our marketing and advertising. The problem is that I-nor my attorney-currently have no idea on how to legally place the rights on an art image. Any advice or suggestions would be very helpful.
Due to circumstances, I could only consider your opinion and use it solely as a non-legal suggestion so that you are not held accountable for it in case me or anyone apart of my company decides to react on it.An Advice on having a Character as a Company Trademark.?
Courts use trademark and copyright laws to back up the rights to a character. File proper trademark registration (you can do this online) and copyright the image as well. Find a different lawyer - this is very basic and easy answer. We use Walter Messick PA in Boca Raton to trademark our inventory.

Ok i owe gas an electric company 20.000 thousand and need advice?
ok i owe gas an electric company 20.000 thousand and i recentley paid off my house and property this year. I once filed a chapter 13 back in the 90s and my question is would i be able to file a chapter 7 and erase my bill without losing my house. And one more thing if i dont file for a chapter 7 will the gas and elec company come after me and try to put a lien or sue me for my house is there any way they could take my house from me any info would be great because i really cant afford a attorny thanks yahoo awnser an anyone that can help GOD BLESS YOU AND HAVE A BLESSED DAY.And thanxsOk i owe gas an electric company 20.000 thousand and need advice?
I can't imagine that being a real bill. I would definitely check with the company to make sure they didn't make a mistake. Unfortunately if you file for bankruptcy, they will take all property into consideration including your house. Worse case scenario is you have to sell the house to pay the bill.
I would consider calling the company up to see if you can work out a payment plan IF the bill is indeed correct. But how in god's name did you rake up such a high bill?!Ok i owe gas an electric company 20.000 thousand and need advice?
20.000 thousand?
Excuse me, but is that ';.'; supposed to be a comma?
As in ';20,000'; ?
If so, I think you actually owe the electric company $20 MILLION. You'd better run!
So did you use all that electricity in one month? WTF are you doing, MAKING PLUTONIUM? Otherwise, I'd say the electric company is negligent for letting you get away with runnign up such a high bill.
Or did you tap into their lines and steal a bunch of power and this is a calculated bill based on the number of lights on yhour pot plants?
Or is this a joke?
are you sure that there is not some mistake?
How could you owe the electric company twenty thousand bucks?
I would definitely seek the advice of an attorney on such a large amount of money.
anyone of us that might guess on here and we could all be wrong since I am sure that not another person reading this has had such a large bill.

I have a debt collection company after me and I need advice. Please see below.?
I have a company who says that a judgement was entered against me for the total sum of a debt I have not paid. I have been in contact with this company since I have been out of work for almost 2 years due to an injury. I am fighting disability since I was denied and have no income. This letter states that it ';may'; do the following: prevent future employment, affect ability to obtain a mortgage, affect ability to obtain an apartment. My credit is bad and has been for a while, I'm not concerned about that until I have the funds to work with a credit agency in the future. What I need to know is how serious this is, what can I do since I have no income. I did write a letter and had it delivery confirmed asking for the original debt information, loan amount, accrued amount. They never responded in the 30 days. I still get calls daily (not harrasing but daily). Please include options and possible contact companies that will help me. Thank you all.I have a debt collection company after me and I need advice. Please see below.?
If you owe the money, have no income and your credit is shot, you should talk to a lawyer about filing bankruptcy. You have nothing to lose and you should be able to clear your debt.
Most lawyers don't charge for an initial meeting. This is the hard way to go but they won't stop calling until you pay the bill and if you aren't working, there's no way to pay it.
The problem is, they don't care, they are paid a commission to collect the funds and will continue to call until you pay or file bankruptcy.
Look in the phone book or classifieds of your local newspaper for a bankruptcy lawyer and discuss your options with them.I have a debt collection company after me and I need advice. Please see below.?
Can you check with a bankrupcy lawyer about bankrupcy? I would definitely do that.
If you want details on the debt, you should continue calling, asking, and writing letters to the collection agency. Keep in mind that they may lie to your or ignore your requests, so you should be persistent.
Also keep in mind that collection agencies are legally required to stop calling you if you ask them to. They may not do so immediately, so again, be persistent. If they are forced to stop calling you, they may take legal action against you.
Make sure that you don't have any assets that could be siezed and liquidated.
If the collections agencies understand your situation, they may be willing to reduce the amounts, interest, penalties, etc.
This is still a tough situation.
If you have no income, no hope of income in the near future, and a large amount of outstanding debt, then you might need to declare bankruptcy.
That should only be a last resort, though.
You can get help from companies like the ACCC

If you make less than 70K - bankruptcy - get all debts discharged and _IMPROVE_ your credit (yes, you improve your credit with bankruptcy - although it will not be ';perfect'; for some years.)
The whole part about ';prevent future employment, affect ability to obtain a mortgage'; etc just refers to the fact that its more badness going on your credit report, and people who want to hire you or rent to you in the future will most likely pull a credit report. They can deny you based on what they find in the report, but they can't tell you thats why they denied you.
The best thing you may be able to do is file bankruptcy. Many people do this, it doesn't have the stigma it once had (especially after a bad injury or many medical bills). Some may actually look more favorably on you if you do this instead of just letting your debt ride forever, because it shows you took matters into your own hands and took steps to fix your situation.
I filed bankruptcy 4 years ago due to very similar circumstances (illness caused me to be out of work, causing me to go into collections with everyone), and within a year I had a fresh start, and was being offered credit cards and car loans again. Good luck with whatever you do.
I would contact your local legal aid. They are real good for someone who doesnt have alot of money. (believe me I know from experience). They have helped me alot in the last few years. It took me 3 long years to get my disability n even then I had to hire a attorney, the attorney gets their fee from your back pay.
I had the same problem once....call you local ';FREE'; attorneys. I don't know where you live but if you are broke/poor/ or on welfare there are free attorneys. Good luck. DO NOT ANSWER THAT LETTER until you get an attorney. There are ways to help you....ok?
There are a ton of laws that protect you from this. Most are not aware of them as is the way they like it. Go to www.creditinfocenter.com This is a great site that has helped so many people in your same spot.
Having a judgement against you really will affect your credit rating, and for a lot longer than you owe the money for!
Your best bet is to make small, 'nominal' payments to the company, even, say 拢5 per month!
If you are making regular payments without fail, they can't take things any further, such as sending the bailiffs! They may still ring and complain that it isn't enough, but they can't get blood out of a stone, so to speak!
Hope this helps!

Applying for other positions in the same company? 10 points for the best advice. Thank you?
I applied for a program officer position at a NGO on March 22. They contacted me for a writing sample. I have not heard from them since. The deadline for this job is April 14. This job is highly competitive--I am not sure they will consider me.
Anyway, I checked on their website. They just open another position. It is an Administrative Assistant position. I want to apply for this job too.
I have Master Degrees. I am a billingual. English is my second langauge. I am very young and lack of work experiences. Therefore, I am worried about the first job. Meanwhile, I am over qualified for the second job.
I really want to work for this company. Should I apply for the AA job anyway? Thank you for your advice.Applying for other positions in the same company? 10 points for the best advice. Thank you?

I say you apply for the competitive job. Submit an awesome, strucking resume and application letter that demonstrates your best abilities and skills. Pray earnestly of your desire to get this job. And since He knows better than we do, if you get this job - this is beneficial for you, if not - there's a job that is reserved for you far better than this one.

Advice. I am sleeping with the CEO of my company, he is married with 2 kids, he is 44.?
I am not with him because I want to be promoted, this is not the typical case. I am 32 and I have a boyfriend. I am in love with my boyfriend but the relationship is not the same now. I don't know what I need to do. I don't want to end my relationship but I am really confused with this other guy.Advice. I am sleeping with the CEO of my company, he is married with 2 kids, he is 44.?
I hope you know that this CEO will not leave his family for you, no matter what he says. He is using you (and maybe you are using him) regardless this is a relationship that will only cause you pain in the end. Have some self respect and end it. It sounds like you and your boyfriend need to sit down and have some serious talks about your relationship find out why things have changed. One of my favorite quotes from Dr. Phil is that ';we teach people how to treat us';. Always remember that. We are treated in a way that we allow. I could go on and on but the bottom line is: be the one to end it with the CEO then analyze your relationship with your boyfriend. When you end it with the CEO do it with dignity, no drama! handling this in a professional manner will likely save your career.Advice. I am sleeping with the CEO of my company, he is married with 2 kids, he is 44.?
Question and then the answer. Keep out of my bed room.
choose one thing only love or promotion this is trend of today.
however it is not right, but it is day's demand.do it but with precaution play always safe sex.
don't be emotional.
Sweetie, sex is for marriage only, why are you comitting aldultery? God hates sin, Jesus loves us so much that He died on the cross for our sins, repent and change your ways, ask Jesus to forgive you, before it's too late, all He wants is for us to ask Him into our hearts, Jesus loves you
what do you do?!?!!!!???? if you love your boyfriend, you wouldn't want to hurt him. and your CEO, your just sleeping with him!! and you cant be with him for forever. and if you want a succesvile career......i think you get the point.
At 32 you should have your head screwed on correctly but it sounds like you don't know anything. Getting involved with a married guy who is your boss is absolutely crazy. He is using you only for sex and nothing else. Get out of that dump affair before he ruins your life completely.
I would end it now, being the ';other'; woman you most likely will end up being alone in the end. If his wife finds out she could make her husband fire you. That's if she decides to stay with him. So before anything happens I would end it now if I were you.
thats pretty skanky, honestly. you should feel ashamed. You ever think of your bf feelings, or the wifes feelings? you are old enough to know better
Thats sad on your part. If a woman was with my husband and knew he was married I would make her life hell. It is so disrespectful. He has two children how do you think they would feel when they find out about this. Stop thinking about yourself and thinking about the people your actions will hurt. But you'll are fit for each other cheaters go well together.
That's kinda trampish. You need to leave the married guy, leave your boyfriend and find yourself.
First of all what goes around comes around. I hope you don't think your boss is going to leave his family for you because that's rarely the case in this kind of situation. Also both of you are betraying the trust of people you are saying you love. In your case it's your boyfriend, for him it's his wife and kids. If the relationship is not the same between you and your boyfriend then why haven't you just been honest with him about it? Even if you just say ';let's take a break and see other people for a while';. If you are as confused as you sound then you need to let them both go until you do get it together.
Well things are different because you are cheating on your b/f and are a homewrecker so you should feel bad..
He's loaded isn't he??
Well you need to figure out what you want from this. As well you need to figure out what your boss wants from this. I'm sure he doesn't want to leave his wife, so maybe you should just end it or keep it going but don't expect a relationship from him. You have to decide.
Well, when you find someone you love and have children with him I hope he cheats on you with someone he works with. How does that sound? Pretty awful I bet... that's what you are doing to a family. You are letting this man use you for sex... which he is because if he wanted somehting more he would not be married.
Don't get emotionally attached. End the sex, but keep him wanting you. You'll go far promotion wise.
Oh yeah, don't sleep with married men. It makes you pond scum.
You are being very selfish....what are you thinking.......at 32 you should know better. No morals , no work ethic, just what makes me feel good , and f#ck the consequences. I am surrounded by people like you everyday, (both men and women)......and there life code is.........You can go first after me!
May the fleas of a thousand camels infest deep with-in your butt crack...............and I mean that with all due respect!!!!
ceo id be getting as much money from him that i could his got it and your just a number to him trust me im right
You obviously cannot continue as you are indefinitely...
You are cheating on your b/f with a married man who is
cheating on his wife...You are going to have to put an end
to cheating with the CEO....
If your boyfriend is sincere, you certainly don't deserve him. As far as your relationship with the CEO, you should know better! He is never going to leave his family for you.
End it. Nothing good could come out of this. If co workers find out your reputation will be totally ruined and they will say that you slept your way to your position. Not to mention this is morally wrong. You probably should change jobs at this point, I don't see how you could get past this career wise. Make better choices at your next job.
I am not here to judge you, I am just trying to give what I feel is honest advice. Then let me be short and to the point.
You should break off all contact. Get yourself a new job in a different area. possibly in another city or state. I can not stress this enough.Your CEO is a selfish immoral sleazebag, and does not deserve to be running the company. Confess to your boyfriend ASAP and ask for his forgiveness. There are only two things that can happen, he will either break up with you, or your relationship will actually improve. Lastly, learn from your mistakes, and NEVER DO IT AGAIN!
Additional:
Don't let the opinions of others on this site get you down. It is only their own guilt, fear, and shame that makes them bitter. They are probably in no position to start casting stones at you.
do you know what women like you are called? You really have a thick skin coming here and asking what we think about it if you are the first to know this si completely wrong! He is MARRIED seems to be the answer here.
Well the wives usually find out
Then the shiiiit hits the fan %26gt; %26gt; %26gt;
you will probably end up on the unemployment line . . .
the boyfriend will cut and run (maybe smack you upside the head)
his wife will clean him out in the divorce %26amp; he will blame you .
and if you are in a small town, everyone will dis you for being a homewrecker . . .
MAYBE - you should just look for a new job in another town NOW !
you are playing with fire and your relationship + your career... do not get to the top of your profession by sleeping your way to the top. it does not work...
I dont think that you love your boyfriend. Why would you do something that would devistate him? Would you want your boyfriend cheating on you? One thing that you have to realize is that marriage and family are sacred. You are interfering with a man and his wife and family. I hope that you are not expecting him to leave is family because chances are he will not. If he does, how can you trust a man that took marriage vows, did not live by them and then left his wife and kids behind. This is nothing but trouble. Wives are dangerous. Wives have so much to lose that some will do anything to keep their lives - assault or even murder the mistress. I really dont want you to get hurt. End it now!
ok wow.
this is funny.

Virgin Media-what can I do with this company?I am extremily upset and stressed out. Please give me advice/?
I paid june/julys phone bill of 拢75 on the 29th July and ensured the funds were in my account to cover it, I have since paid the next bill of 拢15 just a few days ago, however it was not until I went to my bank yesterday that I realized my account was overdrawn through virgin media taking the payment out of 拢75 only two days ago, the day before they took the 拢15 bill payment, almost a month after I had called up to pay it.
My bank have checked their clearing system and can confirm I did make the payment at the end of July, however virgin media had made no attempt to take it until the 21st August. I have spoken to several people including managers at virgin media who state that it must be the banks error, but the bank state it certinatly was an error of virgin media. None of the 2 companys are helping me and I feel as if I am being shoved back and forward between the two and in the meantime i hav an unorthorised overdraft of 拢53 and recieved bank charges too. What can I do about this?Virgin Media-what can I do with this company?I am extremily upset and stressed out. Please give me advice/?
Virgin media is a mess. I am better off with sky.Virgin Media-what can I do with this company?I am extremily upset and stressed out. Please give me advice/?
in part its ur own fault for not checking your bank account, however im like you. once i have made the call and paid over the phone, i expect it to go out of the account within a few days and I do not check my account daily, only when i know things are being paid into it or out of it.
at the end of the day, virgin have not taken payment within a satisfactory timescale.. I would write a letter explaining to virgin what has happened, enclose any correspondance from your bank, along with copies of bank statements (tippex or blank out transactions you do not need them to see) and copies of bank charges noticies etc... and state you wish to claim back these charges due to unsatifactory customer service
send copies of this letter to your bank so they know what is happening and then wait and see what happens.
if all fails, you maybe able to make a claim against the bank for undue charges.
Do not blame the companies it is your fault for not making sure that your outstanding payments are taken into account when establishing your balance. Bank on-line and pay your bills on-line then you can see all your dues out and current balance.
Ring their customer services and ask to speak to a manager. Explain what has happened and tell them it is their fault you have incurred charges and that you want them back. Explain about the clearing system has confirmed you paid at the end of July and that unless they can give you a good reason for not taking it for three weeks you would at least like the charges incurrred back, either by way of cheque or credit to your account. If all eklse fails speak to your bank and explain that it was not your fault and ask them if they would waive the charge this time as they can see it was not your fault.
Make sure you talk to a manager or supervisor, and stand your ground dont be fobbed off.
Hope this helps
As previous answers have suggested, tackle this both with Virgin Media and the bank. I suggest not bothering with phoning in - being put on hold is a time-consuming, stressful and sometimes expensive business. Find out the best address and person to write to (ie the Manager of Customer Services etc) and write stating the facts of what has happened. Include bank statements or other proof to show the charges you have incurred. Say that you are disappointed that a company said to pride itself on customer relations could have made such a mistake. (Flattery often pays!)
Keep the letter to one page maximum. At the end, state ';I look forward to receiving a cheque for the incurred sum of 拢53 within the next 14 days, as an effort to recompense the stress and inconvenience caused.'; This obliges them to reply quickly. Send the letter registered delivery.
At the same time, contact your bank in the same way (it might be best to address it to the manager of your branch - find out his/her name.) Explain the situation and say that you would be grateful if the charges could be wavered, as the situation arose through no fault of your own, and you have been a reliable customer for X years. Also include a similar phrase ';I would be grateful if you could credit my account with the above some within 14 days'; or, less pushy ';I look forward to receiving your response within 14 days';.
For further, excellent information on reclailing unfair bank charges, try www.moneysavingexpert.com. Good luck, and try not to get too stressed, it's bad for your health and you can't get that refunded!
Regardless of what they say or which company it is. its your banks fault.
for not holding it properly, if they know a claim was made for it on the 29th july (from their clearing system) but letting you use those funds %26amp; then letting it be paid when you have no funds (let me guess, the bank made money from this) by charging you, why do you think there are so many claims for unfair charging....
Banks have a holding account, its your banks responsability to place the funds into the holding account.
Read your banks code of conduct. %26amp; report them to the FSA.
Its your banks fault not Virgin Media.
I'm with virgin media also...have had many problems with them, although they have resolved them promptly for me. I always tell them that I'm leaving to go to Sky and they are more than willing to accommodate me then. It doesn't help tho, that when I ring i sometI'mes can't understand the accent of the person im talking too, therefore I have to hang up and ring back!!

Why Go: Trip Ideas
Colorado Springs, CO:
Purple Mountain Majesty
Leave your designer duds at home, and saddle up to the casual vibe of a real Rocky Mountain town where Air Force meets ';O beautiful for spacious skies.';
Most ';bang'; for your buck: Mosey on over to the Flying W Ranch for a chuckwagon supper capped off with cowboy songs and an old-Western-style shootout (fake pistols, of course) with audience participation. This working cattle ranch is a good place to bring the family. Hint: Arrive early if you want to explore the town.
Get out of Dodge: Take the old Western train through Royal Gorge for wine tasting while savoring mountain and forest vistas. Or, head to the town of Manatee Springs to explore the sandstone formations within Garden of the Gods or go spelunking in an ancient cave. From Manatee Springs, it's not too much further to reach the casinos of Cripple Creek.
Chill out spots: After seeing the unique animals at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, drive up the little road to the Shrine of the Sun, where you'll get a spectacular view of the city. Then, head for the good life at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort lake beach or golf course.
The real deal: Lovers of the great outdoors rejoice in frequent Bambi sightings, fly-fishing rivers stocked to the gills with rainbow and brown trout (you can just pick up your fishing license at most convenience stores), mountain bike trails filled with twists and turns, and up to Class-5 whitewater rapids.
Did we mention it's free? Visitors to the Air Force Academy will be flying high after exploring the museum, marveling at the aluminum spires of the Cadet Chapel, checking out the B-52 bomber display, chatting with students in the Field House, and heading to the overlook to watch cadets marching, planes flying, and parachutes sailing the wind.
Good to know: Those antennas on the top of Cheyenne Mountain have to do with NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense Command). The President's hideaway in case of emergency is located in the government command center set way deep down inside the mountain itself. A popular local pastime is to speculate on where the door to this secret lair lies.

Does anyone know where I can go for advice to claim money from a company that is about to be wound up?
I recently won an award against my ex employers. They continually objected throughout the hearing and delayed the judgement. They lodged two appeals when the Tribunal heard in my favour. They protracted their case in the Appeal Tribunal so that written submissions had to be made and as soon as they lodged theirs, they went into administration. I made the administrators withdraw their appeals. I now understand that they have filed a report to wind the company up. The administrators ignored me, and after holding a creditors meeting and selling off assets and awarding extortionate salary payments to current staff, they eventually wrote to me to say that as they considered me to be an unsecured creditor I would receive no money. Where can I get some urgent expert advice?Does anyone know where I can go for advice to claim money from a company that is about to be wound up?
For 'expert' advice, I would go to the CAB, not this site.Does anyone know where I can go for advice to claim money from a company that is about to be wound up?
I'd hire an attorney. If you had an existing judgement against the company, you should have been paid out of the funds they received from selling off assets. Did you have an attorney help you with the case against the ex employer? If so, I'd return to that attorney for advice. He should have helped you obtain your funds from the company before they ';wind up';. If the company is already in bankruptcy, you may have waited too late to receive anything. See an attorney immediately.
you have had your answer unsecured creditor if you have anything to come the adminstrator will let you know. there is nothing more you can do only wait and see if there is any money left. no point in doing anything you wont achieve nothing. going to CAB WILL BE A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME
Try a lawyer. You are an unsecure creditor.

Im thinking about getting into drop shipping ,has any one got any advice on this or a link to a company cheers
Drop shipping is really good. SMC has 1000's of great products. I found one site i use to use a lot...www.thediscountdollar.com has some cool products. not a lot but they are cheap and they dont charge for shippingIm thinking about getting into drop shipping ,has any one got any advice on this or a link to a company cheers
I lost 拢200 buying jeans!!!Im thinking about getting into drop shipping ,has any one got any advice on this or a link to a company cheers
I'd not recommend drop shipping unless you have a unique channel of distribution, places like eBay have all the other members of the drop shipping site; they're big and well established and can afford to make less on each item than you. You can make money on it but it will take lots of work and effort, there are probably better options the only people who make the real money are the people drop shipping. Beware lots of the sites are written in get rich quick scheme style it's easy to get drawn into! I'll give you some examples to look into.
Excellent advice on starting any business can be obtained at your local SCORE office.

OK, you're off to a good start. Add maraschino cherries, green olives, coctail onions, and fruits like orange slices. Make sure you have enough straws, swizzles, napkins. Make sure you have at least 3 bar towels, and a few extras. Also an ice scoop, corkscrew, a zester, a bowl of salt, a bowl of sugar, a couple small knives, a couple serving trays. Even a jack-knife or foil cutter if there will be a lot of wine. Brush up on drinks, dress nice, be as friendly as the occasion allows for, and if you don't know how to make a drink, it's OK to ask the guest. Just say ';I'm not quite familiar with that one, how would YOU like it made?'; You'll be fine, and don't forget your mixers and juices and waters, and SMILE!help for acne

Has anyone traveled across the country in a rented car??? Please share company, cost of car rent, & advice?
My husband and I have served overseas for over 2yrs straight %26amp; we've missed the mainland so much. We thought it would be wonderful if we can rent a car at Los Angeles and drive it all the way to Chicago.

I would love to hear from someone who has done this, those who works from the car renting business, or any other who has knowledge about this. Please do advise me, and share from your experiences!!! I was working with a ltd company. Now company's is not clearing my dues of Aprox.1.00Lacs.Pl advice.?
1. Bring as much as possible on record through written correspondence. Directly or indirectly, for eg.
2. mention your joining date and resignation date on a letter requesting for clearance on dues to bring the no of months on record.
3. Provide reference of various telephonic conversations with various personnel of the company along with their names. They would not respond, however, you've brought it on record
4. When you have a decent correspondence file prepared, email it to the bosses of the company, they should have it sorted (on record of course..)
5. If they dont do anything, Sew Them, Simply send a legal notice, (have any court side lawyer draft it).
6. The company officials also avoid legal issues hence normally settle such issues outside court.
7. If nothing works, let the issue remain pending for as long as it has too, normally legal settlements have a clause for interest based on time period. They'll make them pay through their nose...

HELP! Need advice on menacing/harassment from pipeline company?
Earlier I asked a question about an LNG pipeline that was planned to go through my grandmother's property. (See My questions for details, for some reason I can't post the link to the question on here.) The Australian company building it knows my grandmother is on very terrible terms with them (She pointed a shotgun at their lawyers after she refused a huge sum of money for permission to build it and they said, ';Don't worry, we'll get permission one way or another.';)
Anyway, for quite some time, on random intermittent days, the people from the company will hover around the property of us, and the neighbors from who the pipeline will be coming from and going to. It's been getting increasingly frequent as of late. The vehicles they most commonly come in:
-A small orange Cessna two-seater plane with bumblebee stripes on the ends of the wings and the tail fin. I'm unable to give the plane number at this time. This guy likes to fly in low over our property at altitudes as low as 250 feet. Fool almost hit a tree yesterday. I heard from my Uncle Jeff (who is in flight school) that planes must maintain an altitude of 1,000 feet or higher while flying, so this guy is violating our airspace rights and a few FAA laws.
-A green 1997 Ford F-250 Crew Cab with a yellow revolving light on the roof and red and white warning stripe on the bottom of the sides. Oregon License Plate: VVE 683.
This guy is a jerk. He almost sideswiped me on several occasions because he's too busy ogling at our property to pay attention to the road. He'll drive slow in front of our property, then turn around in the neighbor's property and circle around again. This will go on until he wants to leave or until one of us walks outside and sees him. Then he hightails it as fast as he can go.
I told the cop that hangs out in front of the old St. Louis Church down the road about him, and he said he'd keep an eye out for the truck, but there wasn't much else he could do. Isn't there something we can do? Maybe have them arrested for harassment or menacing, or something? I have asked this question before but nobody will help me. All I get is retards saying ';Suck it up and sell the property'; but we don't want to.HELP! Need advice on menacing/harassment from pipeline company?
I'm sorry that I can't tell you much, but I would certainly recommend that you talk to an attorney about possible charges or things to watch out for that might be criminal in nature. And tell your grandma that it's probably not wise to attempt to intimidate anyone with a firearm or she could find herself under arrest, instead.

I need advice on starting a new marketing company. Do I need to know HTML?
I am fresh out of college and I am looking to starting a marketing/advertising/pr and consulting company part time. I have the marketing knowledge, some photo shop and PR knowledge and I know the community that I hope to reach. My issue is with HTML and web design. I know that many companies are moving towards the web, but I have very limited HTML and coding skill.
Is it wiser to contract my web design work out to other companies and focus on the other intangibles or should I just suck it up and learn the coding needed? Also is it wise to seek out a marketing consultant for additional advice since I am starting a marketing company?I need advice on starting a new marketing company. Do I need to know HTML?
The internet makes it pretty easy to find someone to do the web design that you need for a decent price. If your company is centered around doing mostly offline marketing and advertising then I would suggest partnering up with someone else who can do the online side. I could point you in the right direction if you'd like. However, if you're going to be doing the online side I think it's possible to pick up most of the HTML learning that you need on the go.
It's usually a good idea to get some advice from people who have been doing what you want to do for longer than you have. However, marketing is an art and not an exact science and technology is changing fast. I'd say definitely get advice from others, but don't be too afraid to go out on a limb and do your own thing either.
Hope this helps.
-MattI need advice on starting a new marketing company. Do I need to know HTML?
What I did was to buy a template website and then just edit it using Notepad; cheap, effective and very professional looking and you can produce a top class website in a couple of evenings of your spare time without buying lots of expensive software.
When you've done that and you need to look at promoting your website then Google for '5Day Traffic Makeover', again, this is a very low cost ebook with everything you need to get started cheaply.
I would suggest you to let the experts build the website for you so that your website can look superb. You need to focus on what you're good at. So, you don't have to know html. Just go online and find a local web design service to take care of your website development for you.

Advice needed. My mom found GLASS in her chocolate covered cherry and called the company...?
they told her it was crystalized sugar...but it didnt taste like sugar and it didnt melt when she tried to test this ''sugar'' out. How can she figure out if it really is glass and what are her rights? Can she sue I just feel like they owe her something, what are her rights concerning this? Thanks!Advice needed. My mom found GLASS in her chocolate covered cherry and called the company...?
Well...
for negligence, you need 4 things
1. duty
2. breach
3. causation
4. damages
you dont have any damages... excpet maybe the price of the chocolate. what would you sue for?Advice needed. My mom found GLASS in her chocolate covered cherry and called the company...?
In this pathetic world of sue-happy consumers I would not suggest taking it that far if she has not incurred any injury.
If the chocolate was truly laced with glass as you say, ask for some sort of refund.
If she was injured by said defective product I would ask the company ';what can you do to correct this wrong?';
theirs no question that she has the right to sue, but can you prove it. Did she have to go to the hospital for damages, if she did then you can use that to prove your case. My best advice is to contact a lawyer and he will tell her what to do.
Send the bar with the glass back to the company. Tell them they should check their machinery and processing, and ask for a refund, plus postage.
Was she hurt? If not the company owes her nothing, except maybe a new box of chocolates. I would suggest, if she wasn't injured, she send the piece of glass and the code number off the box to the company so they can check into this.
If she was hurt then she should get a lawyer.
You have nothing to sue for... all she is missing is a couple of chocolates. She wasn't hurt and the candy caused her no damage. I would suggest not buying that brand of candy again and making another call to the company to that effect.
She can sue, but only if she can prove that this came out of the bag of chocolate. Also, did she get the name of the person she talked to? That way, she can cite a specific person when she confronts them further. (Which she should do, even if she doesn't sue.)
Yes she can sue, and if she is looking for an Affordable way to contact an Attorney about this Legal Matter, have her contact me. I will get her access to your Legal Rights and find an answer to her question from an Attorney. She can make unlimited amount of phone calls to an Attorney/Law Firm in her State, 24hours a day. The Law Firm will be one of the TOP Firms in her State. Hope to be of service to your family.
Dont think she has many rights..coz many ppl might just put things into their stuff themselves to sue!
Im sure ur case is genuine...They should either refund and/or replace the thing with something welse.
Well...
for negligence, you need 4 things
1. duty
2. breach
3. causation
4. damages
you dont have any damages... excpet maybe the price of the chocolate. what would you sue for?Advice needed. My mom found GLASS in her chocolate covered cherry and called the company...?
In this pathetic world of sue-happy consumers I would not suggest taking it that far if she has not incurred any injury.
If the chocolate was truly laced with glass as you say, ask for some sort of refund.

Im in a bigtime baffle for a friends company and need some network advice.?
I am with a company who wants to upgrade their LAN configuration from 5 hubs and single router to one that uses 10 switches. The switches the company is buying have many more ports than necessary to support each segment, But however, they want to divide the 10 departments into separate place or entities. They are planning on using routers between each switch, dividing the broadcast domains between the switches. My question is this, what other options for configuring its network should I tell them to consider..help me鈥ahaIm in a bigtime baffle for a friends company and need some network advice.?
You can do this with one router and switches that are capable of VLAN - Virtual Local Area Network configuration.
You setup the switches with different vlan settings for the ports as needed to connect the computers in the different departments - IE: HR in one vlan segment - Sales in another and so on.
You use the router to route traffic between the vlans.
If you are not familiar with setting up a network of this nature I would advise you find someone with networking experience in this area - you will save a great deal of time in getting it setup properly and they can explain the pro's and con's to different configurations.
Hope this helps.

I need help for this mess an airline company did to me, please advice?
I was making a one way airline ticket, gave my credit card number and the sales rep told me that they needed a form signed and faxed before they were able to issue tickets. I asked if my card woill be charged, he said no until the form is received. The form stated:I understand the total charge will be $ 757.25 USD and I authorize to charge my card etc. etc. There was then a change of plans then so I never faxed the form. I called and asked if they were going to charge me the 290 cancellation fee and theysaid no. So now I noticed my bank is full of more than 200 dollars in overdraft fees because they actually charged my card in full. The airline manager wants me to e-mail a print screen image of those charges is it safe? What legal recourse do I have?I need help for this mess an airline company did to me, please advice?
The airline manager already has your credit card information and sending him the documents confirming that the charges they made to your card are real won't matter much. You might not want to do this by email as this is not always safe. Ask for a direct fax line instead. They should have a record of the charges anyway, so I don't know why he is asking for that.
Legally, you never authorized the charge to your credit card and you asked them twice if they would charge your card and they said no both times. I would say that you won't have anything to worry about legally. They usually tape all their calls and if they refuse to refund you in full, your lawyer could ask for those tapes and prove that they never had authorization to charge your credit card. They know this, so I don't think that they are going to give you any trouble. Make sure that you get names of all the people you talk to and ask if they have employee ID numbers so that they can be identified later if needed. Also, tell them that since they made an unauthorized charge on your card, you would also like them to pay the overdraft fees. Make copies of the fees you were charged and (as I said before) track names and dates of all the people you deal with (even if they are just transferring you). If you don't want to go further with legal proceedings, you can also contact your local Better Business Bureau and file a complaint/report. Usually, the company will do what they need to do to keep you happy, especially when the whole thing was their fault.I need help for this mess an airline company did to me, please advice?
send it without your account number info. they'll probably take it off and it'll be safe.
If the airline was not authorized to charge your account and did, resulting in overdraft fees, they should refund the amount charged and reimburse you for the fees. You should get them to send you a letter stating that the charge was unauthorized, take it to your bank, and try to get the charges reversed. Any that they will not reverse should be reimbursed by the airline. I would send then the screen images. He will need them to document any refund he gives you. It sounds like they are trying to do the right thing. I would black out all but the last 4 digits of your account number, though, so that there is enough info to identify you but not to steal your account info.

Advice on selecting a share trading company?
Hi everyone,
I am considering opening a share trading account. As I expected, there are literally 100s to choose from!
I know options express is one as well as interactive investor.
Ideally I want to purchase UK and US shares.
So my question is...
';Can anyone recommend a decent share trading company which doesn't charge over the odds per trade? I've seen prices range between 拢4 and 拢15...what differences are there??';
';My other question is...Can you recommend any share tracking software. I understand Telechart is one option. Can you recommend any others?';
Any help or advice would be gratefully received.
Many thanks,
James StelfoxAdvice on selecting a share trading company?
Have a look at gnutrade.com. The site offers a more modern way to trade the financial markets by betting on price movements. This means you can benefit from rising or falling markets without going through the hassle of actually buying and selling shares. You can trade directly online using an interactive, game-like trading screen, and you don't have to go through a broker, pay any broker fees or trading taxes or get bogged down with paperwork, etc.
You can sign up for a free play money account and have a go at trading the live prices, without any commitments.Advice on selecting a share trading company?
Look at Scottrade, e*Trade, TD Ameritrade, Sharebuilder, Trade King, Zecco. They range from $4.95 to $9.99. The differences would be what they offer you. Some may have inactivity fees (e*Trade). Some will give you so many free trades (e*Trade 100 in the first 30-days, Zecco 10 each month if you have $2,500 in the account, TD Ameritrade gives you the first 30-days of free trades with $2,000 in the account). They also have different research features, or may/may not have streaming live quotes.
As for software, each broker should offer you to have your portfolio on their website. You can also setup Excel to do that.
You are right in that there a lot of differences and the price you pay reflects the quality of the company's system as well as the service they provide. If you want advice then you should expect to pay more of if you feel competent about your trading you can get away with paying very little. Ultimately the decision is yours though I can recommend Iweb for a few reasons. Personally, I need a system that works well and doesn麓t crash. Also I don麓t care to have advice. Iweb don麓t provide a whole lot in the way of services though their internet based platform is very reliable and they only update over weekends. You only pay for the trades, there is no monthly fee which puts me off. You can also trade all Uk markets apart from the Plus Market and most leading european markets. Also, just after filling in a form, you can trade in the US as well.
As for tracking software, I'm not sure. I found a free charting tool called FCharts. It is ok though personally I don麓t use them that often. Reuters, the FT and various other websites serve my own purposes.
Good luck.

Advice on starting a lawn mowing company?
i am 22 years old and i have decided i am sick of working in the food industry and i would like to start a small business , just doing lawn mowing and maybe planting etc. i have almost ten thousand dollars saved up and my plan is to buy a truck in the spring and invest in the equipment i need to get this business started. im trying to keep it as simple as i can to start. im not planning on making a killing at this, i just want to make enough to survive atleast and be working by myself. does anyone have any advice for me? thanks!Advice on starting a lawn mowing company?
If you keep it on a small scale, you can actually do pretty good in the lawn care business. You'll need general liability insurance and an occupational license. Don't skimp on the equipment. The 21'; Murray push mower at Home Depot ain't gonna cut it. (pun intended) You will want a good commercial mower and weed eater. Starting out I would aim for a 36'; walk- behind mower. That will allow you to get in the back yards of residential customers and its still big enough to include some smaller commercial accounts too. Also, starting out, skip the trailer routine, there's no need. Buy a couple of 2 x 8's, take your tailgate off, put the 2 x 8's on the bumper, and run the mower into the bed of your truck. From there, I assure you, there is as much work out there as you will ever want.Advice on starting a lawn mowing company?
lawn moving, just like open a restaurant, always have demand but can not make lots of money also very tired. if you really want try it, go ahead, it is not gonna kill u,but not that easy only by yourself. it is better to look for another opportunity. good luck. gavin_wjq@yahoo.com
Before spending any money on truck and equipment, I would start by looking carefully around where you live:
- how many companies are there already offering the same service?
- how much work is available (i.e. call the competition with a fictitious job and see when they can do it - if they are available straight away, it's a bad sign!)?
- how much will it cost you to set up and run (i.e. cost of your equipment, insurance, petrol...)
- how much can you charge per job / hour of work, and is it enough to cover your costs and give you a wee profit?
Then, list everything down very clearly, add up the cost / potential earnings, and give all that to someone else to review for you (pick someone who seriously cares about helping you and who will tell you the truth even if it's bad). Use that feedback to change whatever part of your job needs tweaking, and get more feedback...
If you come up with a potentially viable company, then go for it.
Although in the current economic climate, I would start small and simple, and maybe keep a normal job at the side (like going part time at your current job) while you build your customer base, so you still have money coming in to pay you bills - boring, I know, but safer.
Best of luck, and I hope it all works out for you.

Advice: Summer internship with a reputable company or a summer abroad in Turkey?
I am a sophomore mechanical engineering major.
The company that I have an interview with for an internship (just an interview, nothing for sure yet) is a highly respected petrochemical production company.
The study abroad opportunity is mostly likely paid all by scholarships and loans. It is only a month long deal, so if I were to do it, I would most likely take courses here at home for the first summer session, and then take classes in Turkey for the second session.
I am really conflicted; I want a job when I graduate that entails international travel, and an international experience in college would perhaps be a boon. However, no company is going to hire me out of college and put me in a plane every week. I would have to earn that sort of thing.
The experienced gained interning with this company would be a great professional and education experience, and it would look great.
Any thoughts?
another factor is the fun factor. going to Turkey would be incredible.Advice: Summer internship with a reputable company or a summer abroad in Turkey?
It depends. both have their pro's. I would take the trip to Turkey, but it all depened on the company that was offering the internships and how much it would mean to my future if i took it.Advice: Summer internship with a reputable company or a summer abroad in Turkey?
Are you not aware of what is going on in turkey right now? They are quite angry with America right now. (I am assuming you are an American.) They are considering invading Iraq because terrorists attacking them. I would not say that it is a good time for a young student who (I am once again assuming) does not know the language to go over there right now. Just keep that in mind when making your decision.
I would say, stick to the reputable company and stay home.
I doubt you would learn anything in Turkey. (had it been a Western European country, it would have been a different story altogether).
I would suggest work at home because you ll definitely get to learn more here technically than in a developing country like Turkey where the technology is not so progressive.
Well, but if you are looking for an excursion trip and a different culture, then you better think twice.:)

I am trying to plan a major event for my company, I've never done this before and looking for some advice?
and what exactly is the ';major event'; ??I am trying to plan a major event for my company, I've never done this before and looking for some advice?
How many people are you expecting? I am having a party for my daughter %26amp; am getting it caterered by a Taco guy. It includes food for 100 people for 400.00. I don't know what your budget is. But, it will certainly make life easierI am trying to plan a major event for my company, I've never done this before and looking for some advice?
What kind of event (major event)???? Like you said, not dealing with food, I'm assuming that you mean an exhibition or conference. Call a local hotel of where you're having the conference or exhibition and ask for options of what they offer in terms on conference rooms and halls. Many hotels offer catering and different types of room sizes and the like.
Please provide more details if you would like more answers.
Depending on how much monies you wanted to spend, you could reserve an outdoor amusement park for the day and have a Caterer to attend with lunch of bar-b-que sandwishes, chips, baked beans, cole slaw, cold drinks which makes a nice meal.
Everyone would be able to have access to the rides, pool, water slide for the whole day.
I've attended this type of event and it was great, and everyone had so much fun and made the moral of the employee's become family.
Find the best events coordinator in your area. This person/company will handle all the details (there are many) hire entertainment, catering, suggest locations, etc. Depending on the number of guests, level of sophistication, the advice from the coordinator is invaluable. You don't want to hire a circus for a group of top executives. Tacky.

Starting a new beauty company! please give me your advice!!?
I am trying to start my own e-commerce business, where customers will sign up for a monthly fee (totally cancellable at any time with no add. fees) and receive samples of luxury cosmetics, skin care, and hair care products! The prices will range from $15-30 depending on the package you choose. This way, you wont have to spend hundreds of dollars on beauty products that don't work for you, and you don't have to worry about gaining a certain number of ';points'; just to receive 1-2 samples! Plus, customers will get an option to choose specific brands, or specific products they would like to receive. I will also have an option where they can enter in their skin type, hair type, etc.. and match them with the best cosmetics for them! Please tell me what you think!!!! any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thank you!Starting a new beauty company! please give me your advice!!?

My mortgage company transferred my loan to another company under questionable circumstances. Any advice?
I lost my job in June. First thing I did was contact my mortgage co and came up with an agreement to catch my loan up with my tax refund. However, I just received notice through the mail that my loan has been transferred to another company. In the legal copy, it stated that my current provider should have sent me a Notice Of Warning 15 days before the transfer. That never happened. This is a shock that this has happened. Do I have any legal recourse? They transferred my loan to a mortgage company I have dealt with in the past... and got screwed over by them. I don't want this to happen, again. Any advice or answers would be appreciated! My mortgage company transferred my loan to another company under questionable circumstances. Any advice?
You need to talk to an attorney who specializes in real estate law now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!鈥?br>
You could lose your house!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You say that you are behind on your payments. That gives the holder of your mortgage the right to file a Notice Of Default.
The net result will be a dramatic increase in your costs and the possible loss of your house. The mortgage holder will add penalties and late fees to the amount of money that you owe to mortgage company.
Have you been able to find a new job?
Unfortunately you may be in a posititon where you will not be able to get the money to make the mortgage payments on your house.
You need someone with a great deal of expertise in the area of real estate law to advise you. You will now start receiving enormous amounts of advice from people who do not know what they are doing and in some cases advice from people who will pretend to be your friend but are really only interested in stealing your house and your equity in your house from you.
Now more than ever, that is why you need an attorney who specializes in real estate law.
The attorney will not only help you make an informed decision of what to do, but also even more importantly your attorney will help you sort out the bad destructive advice that you will receive from people who find out about the problems that you face.
I wish you much success. Right now things probably look rather desperate to you, but with the proper advice from an attorney you will have a much better future. My mortgage company transferred my loan to another company under questionable circumstances. Any advice?
you need to go to the manager of your mtg company and find out why you were not notified...and why it was transferred.
next would be a lawyer....
for the most part, any mortgage company has the right to sell their loans to another lender with or without notice as the terms and conditions are normally the same.... find another job in a similar profession and refinance w/ another mortgage company...
A case against what? Them selling your loan? The loan should still be according to the contract you signed. I am not sure what ';a case'; would be as you suffer no loss, in fact no effects at all, from this exchange.
A case for WHAT ? Your mortgage loan has been sold to another firm, and that firm will handle mortgages according to their custom. The only thing which does protect you under law is that they cannot report your account as delinquent for the first sixty days after they purchase the contract.
After that, you're on your own. Whether or not your new mortgage owner will agree to the same terms that your old one did is up to the new mortgage holder.
You might have a case, but you'll need to retain an attorney to enforce your rights.
As to the agreement with the first mortgage company. Did you have a WRITTEN agreement on catching up by Feb 08? If so, that agreement must be honored by the new holder of the mortgage. If it was a verbal agreement, it's worth the paper it's printed on, i.e. it's pretty much unenforceable.
Companies buy and sell motgages all the time. It's called trading paper. As long as the terms of the contract are the same, I see no problem with that.
Loan Servicing is subject to Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act.
TITLE 12--BANKS AND BANKING
CHAPTER 27--REAL ESTATE SETTLEMENT PROCEDURES
Sec. 2605. Servicing of mortgage loans and administration of escrow accounts
You are entitled to collect for actual loses incurred due to failure to receive notice.
Doesn't sound like you have a ';case';.
You may want to look at http://www.naca to see if there is some help for the mortgage there.
Case? What case? Lenders can buy and sell loans as much as they want. The terms of the loan can not change. Generally lenders dump loans that are near default. Some lenders are better then others with dealing with collections. If anything, the lender has a case since the income the loan was approved on has decreased. You entered into a contract. It is up to all parties involved to agree to any motifications. Call the new lien holder. The money you would spend on an attny would be better applying to getting the mtg back up.
No, you don't.
Mortgages get sold all the time. Likely, when you ';got behind'; in the mortgage payments, the original mortgagee decided to sell it off to someone who takes higher risks.
There's no such thing as getting a mortgage that can't be sold to someone else. Unless it's through Mom and Dad, or your local bank, with a non-transfer agreement.
